SlipsTips examines the Bet Builder market ahead of Arsenal’s encounter with Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
Arsenal vs Aston Villa (Saturday, 17:30)
Arsenal and Aston Villa square off in an intriguing-looking Premier League showdown at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening.
Both teams will be looking to build on their respective midweek victories, with the Gunners getting the better of arch-rivals Tottenham, while Villa eked out a 1-0 victory away at Everton.
I’ve already penned a separate match preview on this televised tussle but I’m now going to turn my attention to the Bet Builder market.
Amadou Onana to Commit 1+ Foul
Kicking off with the first of two player-based selections, I’ll go with Amadou Onana to commit a minimum of one foul. The Aston Villa midfielder has a tendency to tackle his way into trouble.
In fact, the towering Belgian has averaged a sizeable 1.53 fouls per-game across his 15 Premier League outings this season, collecting four yellow cards along the way – one of which came against Arsenal in this season’s reverse fixture. Onana committed two fouls during that Villa Park contest and he has since overstepped the mark in nine of the subsequent 11 top-flight games that he has started.
Youri Tielemans to Commit 1+ Foul
Elsewhere in the Aston Villa engine room, I’m also prepared to include Youri Tielemans to commit at least one foul at the Emirates on Saturday evening. The 27-year-old has also been pretty prolific on the fouls front for Villa this season.
Tielemans averages 1.24 fouls per 90 in the Premier League this term, giving away one or more free-kicks in 15 of the 21 matches that he is featured in thus far. Like the aforementioned Onana, Tielemans made two misdemeanours when Villa hosted Arsenal during the early weeks of the campaign. What's more, the Belgian international has been guilty of two offences in each of Aston Villa’s last two league games.
Over 1 Aston Villa Card
For the third and final leg of the Bet Builder, I’m including two or more Aston Villa cards. Unai Emery’s team are receiving an average of 2.14 bookings per-game in the Premier League this season.
Dig deeper and it can be seen that Aston Villa have racked up multiple cards in seven of their last 12 league games, including away days at the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle. Thus, there is plenty of scope for that sequence to continue when Villa pay title-chasing Arsenal a visit this weekend.
Mikel Arteta’s men are drawing an average of 2.57 cards from their Premier League opponents this season, with eight of their 10 guests at the Emirates going into the book on at least two occasions.
