Sky Super 6 challenge

We already see a number of bookmakers offering punters some great prizes for correctly guessing six scores in upcoming Premier League games.

With that in mind, we have decided to take up the Super 6 Challenge.

Here are this week's selections.

Our Super 6 Challenge predictions

Man City vs Newcastle

Manchester City’s attention will be firmly on their midweek Champions League return leg against Real Madrid. City were below par in the first leg, with a mix of individual mistakes and tactical lapses costing them. With no realistic chance of winning the Premier League, and the Champions League being their only opportunity for major silverware this season, Pep Guardiola may opt to rest key players ahead of the crucial European tie.

In contrast, Newcastle arrive in solid away form with a record of W6-D3-L3, having scored in 11 of their 12 away games. Both teams finding the net seems highly likely, given Newcastle’s attacking output and City’s tendency to rotate their defence ahead of big European fixtures.

Newcastle sit 6th for away xPTS, while City are surprisingly down in 8th for home xPTS. Given the importance of City’s upcoming midweek match, Newcastle could take advantage of a weakened lineup and are well-positioned to claim all three points at the Etihad.

Aston Villa vs Ipswich Town

Aston Villa should have too much for Ipswich in this matchup. Villa boast an impressive home record this season of W6-D5-L1, with their only defeat coming against Arsenal in their first home game under Unai Emery. Villa Park has been a fortress—Villa have lost just seven of their last 44 Premier League home matches.

Ipswich, on the other hand, are enduring a tough season. They suffered a 2-1 defeat to Southampton last time out, despite dominating large portions of the game. Their away form has been poor, winning just two away matches all season. They have scored in eight of their 11 away games, while Villa have conceded in 10 of their 12 home fixtures, so both teams finding the net wouldn’t be a surprise.

However, Ipswich’s defensive frailties on the road are hard to ignore. They have conceded an average of 2.09 goals per away game, with an xGA of 1.83, making it likely that Villa will score at least two, if not more, in this fixture. Villa’s attacking power and home form should prove too much for Ipswich to handle.

Fulham vs Nottingham Forest

Fulham vs. Nottingham Forest is a tough game to predict, with both sides enjoying strong seasons. Fulham currently rank third for xPTS, while Forest are not far behind in seventh. Despite Fulham’s solid overall form, they have hit a rough patch at Craven Cottage, failing to win in their last five home matches. Some of these results have been disappointing, including a loss to Manchester United and draws against Ipswich and Southampton.

Forest, on the other hand, bounced back emphatically from their 5-0 thrashing at Bournemouth with a stunning 7-0 victory over Brighton at the City Ground. On the road, Forest have been relatively resilient, losing only to Manchester City and Arsenal aside from that heavy defeat at Bournemouth.

With two well-matched sides, this game has the potential to be a close contest, and a low-scoring draw seems like a realistic outcome.

Crystal Palace vs Everton

Crystal Palace have lost just three of their last 16 Premier League matches and rank 11th for xPTS over the last eight games, showing steady improvement. Meanwhile, Everton have completely turned their season around since David Moyes replaced Sean Dyche. However, the intense Merseyside Derby against Liverpool midweek, where they salvaged a late equalizer, may have left some players mentally and physically drained.

In addition, Everton are dealing with several key injuries, which could further impact their performance. While Palace’s home form has been poor—winning just twice at Selhurst Park all season—this game presents a great opportunity for them to grind out a narrow home victory against a fatigued and weakened Everton side.

Liverpool vs Wolves

Wolves could find themselves on the receiving end of a Liverpool backlash as the Reds aim to bounce back from two disappointing results. A 1-0 defeat to Plymouth in the FA Cup, followed by a 2-2 draw with local rivals Everton, means Liverpool have now gone two games without a win. However, their league form at Anfield remains formidable, with a record of W8-D2-L1, conceding just nine goals. Liverpool also rank first for xPTS over the last eight fixtures, highlighting their strong underlying performances.

Wolves, meanwhile, sit 16th for xPTS over the same period. They recently ended a four-game losing streak with a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa, but it’s worth noting that Villa have often struggled after Champions League ties, making this result somewhat less significant in the bigger picture.

Given Liverpool’s impressive home form and Wolves’ ongoing struggles, the Reds should have far too much for a Wolves side still nervously glancing at the relegation zone.

  • Score 3-0 at 7.50 with Skybet

Tottenham vs Man Utd

Over the last eight fixtures, Tottenham rank 13th for xPTS, while Manchester United sit eighth. Spurs’ recent Premier League form has been poor, and with European commitments on the horizon, their focus may shift toward continental competition rather than the league, especially since they are highly unlikely to be dragged into the relegation battle. Spurs have won just twice in their last 12 matches, suffering eight defeats in that stretch.

Manchester United’s form across all competitions has been slightly more consistent. They have won five of their last nine matches, losing only twice. However, most of those victories came against lower-level opposition such as Southampton, Rangers, Fulham, Bucharest, and Leicester in the FA Cup.

While Spurs will provide a tougher test, United have already proven their resilience this season by avoiding defeat at Anfield and the Emirates. They should be good enough to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with at least a point.

  • Score 1-1 at 7.50 with Skybet

The total odds for all six games are a massive 178,200 with Skybet, which may be worth a £1 stake for some fun, I am keen to back Villa and Newcastle to both win 2-1. Combining these two games combined give you odds of 88.0 with Skybet.
