Plenty of tennis will be played on Saturday, September 21st, and we’re bringing you the best tips for the day. We have two matches from the ATP Tour, both of which offer decent value, especially since we think they will hit comfortably.
Best tennis tips and predictions today
In our first tennis betting tip today, we’re going to back Lorenzo Musetti to prove why he’s favoured to win against Christopher O’Connell. The other match is from the ATP 250 in Hangzhou, and we’re going to back a minor favourite to get it done.
Musetti to defeat O’Connell @ 3/5
Lorenzo Musetti has been playing superb tennis this year. While most of his great tennis came on clay, he’s generally been really solid across several surfaces.
He’s played well on the hard courts and grass courts as well, as he’s generally proven himself to be a strong player who is on track for a top 10 level, or thereabouts.
His opponent isn’t on that level and never has been. O’Connell has at times played really solid tennis, and he enjoys these quicker conditions in Asia, but we don’t think he’ll have enough to beat Musetti.
The Italian has simply played on a much higher level this year, and while O’Connell has picked up decent form recently, it doesn’t seem like a matchup he’ll be able to win that easily.
It might go three sets, but eventually we think Musetti’s consistency in rallies, along with his really consistent play under pressure, should prove more than enough for him to win this match.
Carballes Baena to defeat Krueger @ 3/5
A pretty interesting matchup will happen at the Hangzhou Open where Carballes Baena will take on Mitchell Krueger. The Spaniard has been playing some quite good tennis this year and lately.
Krueger has also been really strong by his standards, but his level has always been tied to geography. He’s always performed on native soil, and not so much away from the US.
While he seems to have finally figured things out as he’s getting closer to the top 100, we still think this is somewhat of a matchup problem. Carballes Baena has the necessary skills to beat him and has beaten him in the only match they played so far.
The Spaniard doesn’t mind playing on hard courts and has done pretty well on them lately. He beat Corentin Moutet in the previous round, and that’s a much more talented player than Krueger, so we don’t think he’ll have many problems against Krueger.
