Aberdeen have made a flying start to the new Scottish season and will be out to preserve their perfect record today away to Dundee in the SPFL Premiership.

The Dons were woeful last term and it took them a while to turn things around after Stephen Robinson replaced Jimmy Thelin as boss in January.

But the former Motherwell and St Mirren manager has now had time to stamp his mark on the squad and has guided them to five successive wins in the new campaign.

Dundee vs Aberdeen top betting tips

It looked like Aberdeen would lose their SPFL Premiership opener at home to Hearts but they scored twice at the death to pinch a 2-1 win.

That will be another boost to morale and they will fancy their chances of getting another good result at Dens.

Dundee kicked off in the league with a 1-0 loss at Celtic Park but put in a decent display and will be hoping home advantage can now get them off the mark.

I'm expecting this one to be closely fought and the half-time draw appeals at 6/5 with Bet365.

These sides faced off four times last term and it was honours even with two wins apiece. All those games saw at least four goals so over 2.5 strikes today looks good at 10/11.

Dundee won 7-2 and 9-2 on the corner count in the two matches after Robinson's arrival at Pittodrie. I couldn't see any prices on the Dark Blues in the Bet365 corner handicap at the time of writing but over 10.5 corners was priced at a decent 6/5.

St Mirren vs St Johnstone

It's all Saints day in the SPFL Premiership as St Johnstone head west to Paisley to take on St Mirren.

Both teams made winning starts last weekend, with the Perth side beating Kilmarnock 4-3 at home while the Buddies won 2-1 away to Falkirk.

Craig McLeish is trying to get St Mirren to play a possession-based game with a focus on the attack and it has been a similar story for Simo Valakari at McDiarmid Park.

That bodes well for an entertaining game today and combining BTTS and over 2.5 goals pays 11/10 at Bet365.

St Johnstone's Sam Stanton caught the eye in that win over Killie and the midfielder appeals today at 13/8 just to have an effort on target.

West Ham United vs Portsmouth

There's a whole host of games in the EFL Cup today and the pick of the ties sees West Ham take on Portsmouth in London.

The Hammers are still reeling from relegation to the Championship but it looks like they will regroup and make a strong title push.

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo has stayed put and the only big-name departures so far have been Crysencio Summerville and Mateus Fernandes.

They should be too strong for Pompey at home and are Bet365's 9/20 hot favourites for a win inside 90 minutes.

It could be a rearguard action for Portsmouth so betting against BTTS today might be a good move at 11/10.

If the outsiders decide to park the bus it could lead to West Ham have plenty of the ball. They might lack a cutting edge so early in the season and that makes under 10 corners worth a look at 5/4 with Bet365.
