Over 2.5 goals is the bet I keep coming back to for Viking v Sarpsborg 08, and the numbers explain why.
Viking have gone over 2.5 in every single home game this season, six from six, while Sarpsborg have hit the same line in five of their eight away trips. Blend those two records together and you get a match with goals written all over it before a ball is kicked.
It is not just one side doing the work either. Viking have scored at home in every game so far this season, and they have only kept two clean sheets in six games, so they are leaking goals as often as they are scoring them.
Sarpsborg have conceded in six of their eight away matches, which lines up perfectly with a Viking side that rarely lets anyone leave with a clean sheet.
My model has this at 68% on both the last four and last eight game samples, a rare case of total agreement across two different windows.
When the underlying season data, the recent form, and the price all point the same way at 1.33, that is about as strong a signal as this market offers.
