Saturday’s football tips: Newcastle out to pile on the pain for City

Manchester City are still reeling from their Champions League collapse against Real Madrid so that could make them vulnerable today when Newcastle come calling in the Premier League.

It looked like Pep Guardiola's side would give their season a much-needed shot in the arm when they were 2-1 up against the European champions in midweek.

But their dodgy defence shipped two late goals to slump to a 3-2 defeat and now face a dangerous Magpies side at home before the second leg in Spain.

Only goal difference is keeping City above Newcastle in the table so Eddie Howe will view this as a great chance to leap above the fallen champions.

I'd imagine they will use the same defensive blueprint at Celtic Park and that could lead to corners racking up for the champions.
