The first months of the new Serie A campaign have shown that this season will be far more closely contested and will feature some surprise contenders in the title race.

It is precisely these teams that we will see in Saturday’s key fixtures. AS Roma travel to Napoli in the highlight clash the day, whilst Lazio will be looking to take the top spot when they host Parma.

Below you’ll find our expert tips and predictions for all Serie A matches on Saturday.

Today’s Serie A betting tips & predictions

Cagliari vs. Bologna (2pm)

The day kicks off with Cagliari, who were brought back down to earth with a bump on Monday following their 4-0 defeat to Monza. However, the fact remains that the Islanders have been impressive since the start of the season and, in my view, this defeat won’t alter their trajectory.

Bologna are dangerously close to the bottom of the table and have nothing to show for their efforts so far. They aren’t creating enough chances up front, and at the back things aren’t looking great either, as they haven’t kept a clean sheet all season.

I’m expecting a tight match without much action, given Cagliari’s style of play. They’ll be looking to put their recent defeat behind them, and I reckon we can expect a 1-0 result.

Cagliari vs. Bologna top betting tip: Under 2.5 goals

Como vs. Sassuolo (2pm)

Como are enjoying yet another historic season, and a win here would guarantee them the best start in their history. Having thrashed Fiorentina and Manchester United over the past week, expectations are for more of the same.

Given how leaky Sassuolo’s defence is, a similar rout seems highly likely. It is a fact, however, that the visitors also score plenty of goals, with each of their seven Serie A matches so far featuring at least one goal at both ends.

Como’s defence isn’t their strongest point either, so this looks like the perfect fixture for goal bets.

Como vs. Sassuolo top betting tip: Over 2.5 goals, Como to win

Napoli vs. AS Roma (5pm)

Napoli are still searching for the right formula for success in Serie A, having made one of their weakest starts in the last 15 years. The 1-0 defeat to bottom-of-the-table Venezia was the icing on the cake.

AS Roma, meanwhile, are still unbeaten in Serie A and are deservedly just a step away from the top of the table. The Wolves have the best defence in the league, having conceded just three goals in seven matches.

However, they face an away trip to Napoli, where they haven’t kept a clean sheet since 2015. In my opinion, we’ll see at least one goal at each end.

Lazio vs. Parma (7:45pm)

Given what both teams have shown so far, this match looks like a foregone conclusion for Lazio, who are enjoying the strongest start to a campaign in their history.

Parma are bottom of the table and show no signs of being on a par with the top flight this season. They have the weakest attack, having scored just four goals in seven matches, whilst at the back they are conceding an average of nearly two goals per match.

By comparison, Lazio have the second-best defence in the league and have conceded just four goals so far. I find it hard to imagine them slipping up here.
