Coventry City vs Fulham

, KO: 15:00 , CBS Arena
Fulham

Two clubs separated by a solitary point in the Premier League table meet at the CBS Arena on Saturday afternoon as 17th-placed Coventry City entertain 18th-placed Fulham.

Coventry saw their two-match winning run come to an end on Monday, as they fell to a 3-1 defeat to then-winless Tottenham Hotspur.

Jack Rudoni equalised at the start of the second half for the Sky Blues, but goals from Omar Marmoush and Ben Davies ensured the North London club claimed their maiden three points this season.

Despite that defeat, Frank Lampard’s hosts remain outside of the relegation zone, but they are now just one point and one place clear of their visitors.

Alvaro Arbeloa endured a tough start to his reign as Fulham head coach, as he failed to win any of his opening six Premier League games in charge of the West London club.

However, the Spaniard finally got his first Premier League victory last weekend, as an Alex Iwobi strike just past the half-hour mark gave the Cottagers a 1-0 win over newly-promoted Hull City.

How the bookies view it: Fulham favourites

Fulham are favourites to make it back-to-back wins over newly-promoted sides, with bet365 pricing an away win at 5/4.

Coventry are 11/5 to record consecutive wins in front of their supporters, whilst the draw is 12/5.

Head to head: Rare meeting

These two clubs have met just twice this century, with Coventry City winning home and away against Fulham, despite the Cottagers winning the title that season.

This will also be the first top-flight meeting between the pair since April 1968.

Players to watch: Another card for King

Joshua King was shown a yellow card after just 27 minutes in Fulham’s 1-0 win over Hull City last weekend.

That’s now three yellow cards in a row for the teenager, and he looks like good value at 7/2 at bet365 to pick up yet another card.

Predicted line-ups:

Coventry are still missing the injured Aurele Amenda, Luke Woolfenden, Josh Eccles and Haji Wright.

Fulham are without the injured Hugo Larsson and suspended Ryan Sessegnon.

Coventry City: Rushworth, Van Ewijk, Thomas, Pinnock, Dasilva, Yirenkyi, Grimes, Thomas-Asante, Rudoni, Mason-Clark, Cherif

Fulham: Leno, Castagne, Affengruber, Bassey, Robinson, Berge, Charles, Bobb, King, Iwobi, Garcia

Anything else catch the eye?

Despite Coventry winning two of their last three and Fulham winning last weekend, neither side fully convinces me yet, meaning I’m happy to swerve the WDW markets.

Goals could be a better option, with Coventry’s last four matches producing 15 goals, with Over 2.5 Goals landing in three (75%) of them.

Fulham’s matches have been more hit and miss in terms of goals, but Over 2.5 Goals did land in their last away game against one of the other newly-promoted sides, Ipswich Town, and a repeat pays 8/11.
