Saturday features just two Ligue 1 matches, but they offer plenty of opportunities, so they’re worth checking out.

In the early evening match, we’ll see a clash that could very well be played in Ligue 2 next year, given that Auxerre and Nantes are among the favourites to be relegated. And in the late match, we’ll see Rennes make another attempt to climb into the top six.

Continue reading below for our expert tips and predictions for the two Ligue 1 fixtures on Saturday.

Today’s Ligue 1 betting tips & predictions

Auxerre vs. Nantes (6pm)

Nantes’ fate is most likely already sealed, but Auxerre still has a real chance of survival, sitting just four points above the relegation zone.

Given that these are two of the three lowest-scoring teams in the league, it’s hard to expect much action in this match, even though high-scoring thrillers often occur between teams at the bottom of the table.

However, four of the last five head-to-head matches have had fewer than three goals, so this reinforces our theory. We wouldn’t risk betting on a winner here, although Auxerre have had better results lately.

Auxerre vs. Nantes top betting tip: Under 2.5 goals

Rennes vs. Angers (8:05pm)

Rennes took part in one of the season’s finest fixtures last week, clutching a 4-3 away win at Brest. Their next test is an Angers side that’s struggling right now, so the Red and Blacks have an opportunity to overtake Lyon in sixth place.

Angers have had their moments on the road this season, but remain the second-lowest-scoring side in away games, with just eight goals scored in 14 fixtures. Rennes have always been a stable host, although they last won at Roazhon Park in late February.

We believe that this is about to change and Rennes will claim the three points. Angers haven’t won at this stadium since 2020, back when the two teams were a lot closer in level.
