SPURS were involved in a Sunday thriller against Liverpool and they will be desperate to give themselves hope of some much-needed silverware when they entertain West Ham in the Carabao Cup quarter-final on Wednesday.
It's something of a long-standing joke that Tottenham – a club who are so desperate to join the elite – have won just one trophy this century, a League Cup in 2008 and Antonio Conte will be desperate to write his name into the history books with Spurs' best chance of winning silverware.
They emerged from a 14-day hiatus to enjoy a cracking, see-saw battle with Liverpool in London in a match where they missed plenty of chances, but deserved to win.
That should them encouragement against David Moyes' Hammers, who are showing signs of wear and tear recently after a season where they have been widely praised for attempting to gatecrash the top four.
They are now back in fifth in the league after just one win in six in all competitions and now wins in three and no goals either.
How the bookies view it
Spurs are favourites and can be backed at 15/11 with SBK. A win for West Ham is 11/5 with the same firm and you can back the draw in 90 minutes with bet365 for 21/10.
Recent head to heads
West Ham won 1-0 at the London Stadium in October thanks to a goal from Michail Antonio as can be seen below.
The Hammers were also the first side to win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2019.
Players to watch
Harry Kane scored his first league goal since October against Liverpool, but also looked rusty in missing chances too. However, that's bound to have sharpened him up after that break and he is 5/4 with William Hill to score on Wednesday.
Antonio grabbed the only goal against Spurs this season and also netted the winner in 2019 to inflict Spurs; first defeat in their new ground. He could do with a goal after suffering a six-game goal drought and is 2/1 to score anytime with bet365.
Anything else catch the eye?
Spurs look impressive under Conte and have got their entertaining mojo back. They look decent value against a West Ham side who struggle on the road – they haven't won any of their last four away league games and have scored just once.
They have got their fans back onside again and they can blow the Hammers away if they play to the same tempo they did against Liverpool and you would expect Kane to be on the scoresheet too.
The 11/8 with William Hill for the hosts to score two or more appeals too – something they have managed in their last four league games.
