Strasbourg vs PSG

, KO: 16:00 , Stade de la Meinau
PSG

Strasbourg will be looking to maintain their recent good form when they host champions PSG in a French Ligue 1 clash. Both teams are often exciting going forward and should serve up a thrilling contest here.

Strasbourg are one of the most in-form teams in Ligue 1 at the moment and are unbeaten in their last 11 matches. They claimed a 3-1 home victory over Saint-Etienne in their previous fixture and are currently just two points off the UEFA Champions League places.

Le Racing have shown their cutting edge in attack lately, scoring two or more goals in seven of their last eight home matches. However, defending remains a problem for Liam Rosenior's men, who have failed to keep a clean sheet in six of those matches while the last three fixtures have produced over 3.5 goals.

Ligue 1 winners PSG come into this clash off the back of a 1-0 victory at Arsenal in the Champions League semi-final first leg. However, their deep run in Europe now seems a distraction from their domestic form and Luis Enrique’s team are winless in their last two Ligue 1 matches. Their unbeaten league run also ended last time out as they suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Nice.

The good news for PSG is that they remain unbeaten on their travels in the league and have earned some one-sided wins lately. A 6-1 victory over Saint-Etienne is among their results on the road while they also eased to a 5-2 triumph at Brest.

How the bookies view it: Little to separate them

There is little to separate both teams among the bookies with a win for Strasbourg priced at 5/4 by BoyleSports, who are also offering odds of 13/10 for a PSG victory. A draw is set at odds of 3/1.

Head to head: Superior Parisians

PSG have a 28-4 advantage with eight draws from 40 previous matches against Strasbourg. The Parisians have also won five of the last seven matches, including a 4-2 victory in the reverse fixture.

Players to watch: Dependable Emegha

Emanuel Emegha is the leading scorer for Strasbourg with 14 Ligue 1 goals and will be the one to watch on Saturday. The striker has also scored in the last three home matches and is priced to maintain his scoring run at 6/4 with BoyleSports.

With PSG likely to rotate ahead of the Champions League semi-final second leg, Bradley Barcola should get the nod in attack. The forward has 13 Ligue 1 goals and having also found the net in the reverse fixture, could be worth keeping an eye on at 15/8 with BoyleSports.

Probable line-ups

Sahi Dion remains the only absentee for Strasbourg, with the forward still sidelined with injury. However, Djordje Petrovic, Andrey Santos and Emegha are expected to keep their spots in the line-up.

Ousmane Dembele is doubtful for PSG after being subbed off due to injury in midweek against Arsenal. However, Bradley Barcola is expected to replace him while Warren Zaire-Emery and Lee Kang-In are expected to return to the line-up.

Strasbourg: Petrovic, Sarr, Omobamidele, Doukoure, Moreira, Barco, Santos, Bakwa, Nanasi, Lemarechal, Emegha
PSG: Donnarumma, Mendes, Pacho, Beraldo, Hakimi, Zaire-Emery, Mayulu, Lee Kang-In, Doue, Barcola, Ramos

Anything else catch the eye?
