It will be interesting to see if Celtic have a new manager in place by the time they return to SPFL Premiership action with a tricky trip to St Mirren.
Frenchman Wilfried Nancy emerged as the strong favourite during the international break and Parkhead chiefs were hoping to tie up the loose ends with his current club Columbus Crew before making the short journey to Paisley.
Martin and O'Neill and Shaun Maloney have done a decent job in interim charge, with the only blemish on the copybook coming with a 3-1 Europa League loss to Midtjylland.
Three domestic wins have got the campaign back on track but Celtic still trail Hearts in the Premiership and now have back-to-back away games, with this clash followed by a trip to Easter Road.
They can ill afford any more slips but St Mirren have made a habit of upsetting the big boys since Stephen Robinson took charge.
Both Hearts and Rangers have failed to win in Paisley this season and Celtic needed a late Luke McCowan strike to seal a 1-0 home win over the Buddies on flag day.
This match is a dress rehearsal for the League Cup Final and it could be a good time for St Mirren to face the Hoops, given the champions have plenty of players coming back from international duty.
How the bookies view it: Buddies overpriced at 11/2
This is a potential banana skin for Celtic but the bookies can't see them slipping up, with the away win a best 12/25 at BetMGM. St Mirren look too big at 6/1 with Betfred and the draw pays 19/5 at Ladbrokes.
Recent head to head: Hoops bossing it
That nervy 1-0 win for Celtic earlier in the season made it 14 games unbeaten in this fixture, with 12 of those matches ending in victories. They won 5-2 and 3-0 on their two visits to Paisley last term.
Players to watch: Kenny in the groove
Johnny Kenny delivered after I tipped him to score in Celtic's last game and the striker will still be on a high after being part of the Ireland squad that sealed a World Cup play-off slot. He should continue up front and is 13/8 at BOYLE Sports for anytime scorer.
St Mirren's physical strikers could cause the Celtic defence a few problems, particularly Mikael Mandron. The powerful Frenchman has eight goals to his name already this season and is 19/5 with BetMGM to add to that tally.
Probable line-ups
Robinson may be tempted to make a few changes after St Mirren lost 3-0 at home to Hibs in their last outing. Midfielder Mark O'Hara is a doubt after sitting that match out.
Celtic remain without defenders Cameron Carter-Vickers, Marcelo Saracchi and Alistair Johnston while striker Kelechi Iheanacho is a doubt.
St Mirren: George, King, Gogic, Fraser, Richardson, Donnelly, Idowu, John, Baccus, Phillips, Mandron.
Celtic: Schmeichel, Ralston, Trusty, Scales, Tierney, McGregor, Engels, Nygren, Tounekti, Maeda, Kenny.
Anything else catch the eye?
St Mirren are awkward opponents and could get some joy against a Celtic defence missing some key players. BTTS pays just 3/4 at BOYLE Sports but adding on over 2.5 goals boosts the odds to 6/5.
We should see a lot of corners in this one as the Buddies will play for set-pieces and Celtic are always good value in that market. Over 11 match corners looks good at 11/10 with bet365 and I also like over 3.5 Buddies corners at 17/20 with 888Sport.
Fixtures after an international break can often tricky for Celtic and St Mirren will be out to catch them cold. So there may be some value in the backing the Buddies in the one goal ahead market at 9/5 with BOYLE Sports. That bet pays out if they take the lead at any point.
