PSG vs Lens

, KO: 17:00 Nov 2, 2024, Parc des Princes
Lens

Fresh from their fine showing at Marseille, PSG welcome Lens to the Parc des Princes for a Ligue 1 fixture on Saturday. The champions are beginning to look imperious and should have too much for Lens who are out of sorts at the moment.

PSG showed their class and quality last time out in Ligue 1 as they eased to a 3-0 victory over Marseille. Joao Neves opened the scoring while Bradley Barcola was also on target after the hosts had put through their own net.

Manager Luis Enrique will be pleased to see his team make light work of a tricky side as the result means PSG remain unbeaten this season. The Parisians have been particularly good at home as they are maintaining a 100% record in front of their fans.

While PSG are playing with confidence, Lens have struggled to find their best form in recent weeks. William Still’s men have picked up just one win from their last eight Ligue 1 matches.

The problem for Lens is an inability to keep thing tight at the back, which has led to a run of draws this season. They have been held five times already so far but were beaten 2-0 by Lille last time out in Ligue 1.

How the bookies view it: No contest for PSG

PSG have the upper hand among the bookies and are priced at 4/9 by Betfred to claim the win. An unlikely victory for Lens is valued at 6/1 while Betfred is also offering odds of 18/5 for a draw.

Head to head: Hosts on top

PSG have a 21-14 advantage with 11 draws from 46 previous matches against Lens. The Parisians have won the last three meetings and did the double last season, winning 3-1 at the Parc des Princes before a 2-0 victory in the reverse fixture.

Players to watch: Barcola on the money

Barcola was on target for PSG last time out to take his tally to eight Ligue 1 goals so far. The forward also found the net in the last meeting with Lens and is priced at 13/10 by Betfred to maintain his scoring run.

PSG are a bit unconvincing at the back and Lens will be looking to take advantage. M’Bala Nzola could be worth keeping an eye on and is priced at 7/2 by Betfred to get on the score sheet on Saturday.

Probable line-ups

Lucas Hernandez and Goncalo Ramos are injured for PSG while Beraldo is out through suspension. Fabian Ruiz and Randal Kolo Muani could return to the team on Saturday after starting on the bench last time out.

Facundo Medina is suspended for Lens while Wesley Said, Pierre Ganiou and Jimmy Cabot are all injured. Przemyslaw Frankowski also went off at halftime against Lille and is doubtful for Saturday’s clash.

PSG: Donnarumma, Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes, Neves, Ruiz, Vitinha, Dembele, Barcola, Kolo Muani
Lens: Samba, Khusanov, Danso, Gradit, Machado, Diouf, Thomasson, Pouilly, Zaroury, Nzola, Sotoca

Anything else catch the eye?

With PSG expected to score in both halves, they could be backed to win both halves at 23/10 by Betfred.
