Nottingham Forest vs Everton

, KO: 15:00 , City Ground
Everton

Nottingham Forest's Champions League hopes suffered a blow with a defeat in their last Premier League outing and they'll be desperate to bounce back with a win when Everton come calling.

Aston Villa's 2-1 win over Nuno Espirito Santo's side last weekend fired the race for a seat at Europe's top table wide open as seventh-placed Villa moved just six points behind third-placed Forest.

Fifth place will now be enough to secure a Champions League place for next season but there's still scant margin for error with seven games still to play in the Premier League.

It's still pretty hard to predict who will do enough to get over the line, and that's reflected in the odds, but Forest have a decent run of fixtures and it could come down to a final-day shoot-out with Chelsea at the City Ground.

Seeing off Everton won't be easy though as the Toffees have lost just three of their 13 games since David Moyes returned as manager.

That has moved them 15 points clear of the drop zone so Everton are no doubt safe already but Moyes won't be able to relax until it's mathematically impossible to go down.

How the bookies view it: More home comfort for Forest

Nottingham Forest have been so strong at home this season and BoyleSports make them even favourites for this one. Everton are 11/4 outsiders and the draw is a bit shorter at 9/4.

Recent head to head: Toffees by a nose

There hasn't been much between these sides since Forest returned to the top flight three years ago. Everton have just shaded it, with two wins and two draws in the five matches. But it ended in a 2-0 win for Forest when these sides faced off at Goodison earlier this season.

Players to watch: Morgan's the main man

Forest badly missed a focal point at Villa Park, with top scorer Chris Wood and backup striker Taiwo Awoniyi missing out through injury. Both are doubts for this game too so it's probably best siding with playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White for a Forest goal at 7/2 with BoyleSports. He's also a decent 8/5 with Bet365 to score or assist.

Forest's defence are a tough nut to crack so Everton will be hoping for Iliman Ndiaye to provide a creative spark. The forward is 9/4 with VBet to score or assist.

Probable line-ups

In addition to sweating on Wood and Awoniyi, Forest have concerns over winger Anthony Elanga who came off at half-time in the draw with Villa. Defender Ola Aina looks set to miss out again too.

Vitalii Mykolenko missed Everton's draw with Arsenal last weekend and is a doubt once more. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Jesper Lindstrom and Orel Mangala are also set to miss out again.

Nottingham Forest: Sels, Williams, Milenkovic, Murillo, Dominguez, Yates, Anderson, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi, J Silva, Wood.

Everton: Pickford, Patterson, Tarkowski, O'Brien, Branthwaite, Ndiaye, McNeill, Doucoure, Gueye, Alcaraz, Beto.

Anything else catch the eye?

It's hard to predict how this game will pan out as both sides like to sit back and hit on the counter attack. Forest's need to attack is greater as they need the win but I'd be surprised if we saw a lot of goals.

Betting against BTTS could pay off, although the odds aren't great at just 4/5 with BoyleSports. Adding on under 2.5 goals boosts the odds to 21/20 in a bet builder and that has landed in the last three meetings.

Five yellows were flashed when Forest beat Everton at Goodison earlier this season, with four of them going to Toffees players. Backing Moyes' side for most cards in this one pays 5/6 with Bet365 while Everton -1 in the card handicap is 2/1.

Going for corners backfired on me in Forest's last game so I fancy under 9.5 flag kicks here at 6/5 with BoyleSports, a bet that just came up in the last meeting.
