It's shaping up to be a seismic season for Newcastle United and they can take another step towards a Champions League return when Manchester United come to St James' Park.
This campaign will already go down in the history books for the Magpies after Eddie Howe ended their 70-year wait for a major domestic trophy by lifting the EFL Cup.
It would have been easy for Howe's players to take their foot off the gas after that Wembley triumph but they've responded by winning back-to-back Premier League games to move up to fifth in the table.
Fifth will be enough to secure a Champions League slot but it's so tight in the top half, with just six points separating Newcastle from ninth-placed Brighton.
So the Magpies need to keep the foot down and it's a good time to face Manchester United with the Red Devils in the middle of two massive Europa League games with French side Lyon.
If Ruben Amorim's men are to take a seat at Europe's top table next term they will need to win the Europa League so I'd imagine they may rest a few players ahead of Thursday's second leg with Lyon.
How the bookies view it: Magpies to keep flying
With Newcastle in such terrific form, they're 4/6 favourites with BoyleSports. Manchester United are 7/2 outsiders and the draw pays 3/1.
Recent head to head: Red Devils by a nose
There hasn't been much between these sides in recent seasons, with the last 11 meetings producing five Manchester United wins, four Newcastle victories and two draws. It was the Magpies who came out on top in the first meeting this term, winning 2-0 at Old Trafford to bust the coupon of our man Andy.
Players to watch: Jacob's a cracker
Newcastle winger Jacob Murphy heads into this game on a high after netting a double against Leicester on Monday. He's 3/1 at BoyleSports for another goal while Paddy Power price him at 9/5 to score or assist.
I'd expect Amorim to make a few changes so it's hard to predict who will start. Midfielder Mason Mount could be unleashed after returning to fitness and he's 10/3 at Bet365 to either score or assist.
Probable line-ups
Anthony Gordon's suspension ended for the clash at Leicester but he missed out anyway after picking up a knock. He's a doubt for this one while Sven Botman, Lewis Hall and Jamaal Lascelles are still injured.
Kobbie Mainoo is back in contention for Manchester United after travelling with the squad to Lyon in midweek. But defender Mathijs De Ligt could miss out again along with Toby Collyer, Jonny Evans, Lisandro Martinez, Amad Diallo and Ayden Heaven.
Newcastle United: Pope, Trippier, Burn, Schar, Livramento, Guimaraes, Joelinton, Tonali, Murphy, Isak, Barnes.
Manchester United: Onana, Mazraoui, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw, Dalot, Eriksen, Mount, Ugarte, Garnacho, Zirkzee.
Anything else catch the eye?
Newcastle outclassed Manchester United at Old Trafford earlier in this season, with their midfield trio overpowering veteran duo Casemiro and Christian Eriksen. Amorim won't make the same mistake of pairing them together but United will still be leggy after a tough shift in France on Thursday night.
So I'd imagine Newcastle will win this pretty comfortably if they hit top form and combining a Magpies win with over 1.5 goals pays 20/21 at BoyleSports. The Magpies should come flying out the traps with the crowd behind them so backing Howe's team to be winning at half-time also appeals at 5/4.
Midfielder Joelinton scored when these teams last faced off and he appeals at 7/5 with Unibet to have a shot on target in this one.
