Manchester City vs Crystal Palace

, KO: 12:30 , Etihad Stadium
Crystal Palace

Manchester City entertain Crystal Palace at the Etihad in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime.

Pep Guardiola's side will be looking to get their push for a top four finish back on track following last week’s drab 0-0 draw with rivals Man United at Old Trafford.

That stalemate coupled with results elsewhere means that the Citizens have dropped down to sixth place in the top flight standings.

Back on their own patch this weekend, City are unlikely to have things all their own way against in-form Crystal Palace.

The Eagles extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to five matches with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Brighton last Saturday, in a game that brought up two of my Selhurst Park selections.

Victory maintained Palace’s surge towards the top half of the table, with Oliver Glasner’s side now just two points behind 10th-placed Bournemouth.

How the bookies view it: City to clip Eagles’ wings

Despite winning just one of their last three Premier League home games, Man City are firm 1/2 favourites on Boylesports.

Crystal Palace are as big as 9/2 on Boylesports to emerge from the Etihad victorious while a share of the spoils is also deemed unlikely at 10/3 with the same firm.

Head to head: Eagles seeking more Etihad success

Crystal Palace have proven awkward opponents for Man City in recent years, avoiding defeat in two of their last three trips to the Etihad. What’s more, this season’s reverse fixture between the pair ended 2-2, making both teams to score worthy of support here at 7/10 on Bet 365.

Players to watch: Eze to land on-target effort?

Given that Eberechi Eze is averaging 0.94 shots on target per game in the Premier League this season, the Crystal Palace ace stands out to register a minimum of one on-target effort at 17/20 with UniBet.

Omar Marmoush has made the net bulge three times across his last four appearances for Man City in all competitions. The Egyptian attacker is a 21/20 shot on Boylesports for an anytime strike on Saturday.

Predicted line-ups

As was the case last weekend, Man City again look set to be without injury victims Erling Haaland, John Stones, Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake and Rodri.

Crystal Palace will be unable to call on the services of both Eddie Nketiah and Marc Guehi  following their respective red cards last weekend, while Maxence Lacroix is a major doubt due to a concussion.

Manchester City: Ederson; Nunes, Dias, Gvardiol, O’Reilly; Kovacic; Silva, Gundogan; De Bruyne; Foden, Marmoush

Crystal Palace: Henderson; Clyne, Lerma, Mitchell; Munoz, Kamada, Wharton, Chilwell; Sarr, Eze; Mateta

Anything else catch the eye?

Crystal Palace look overpriced to score two or more goals on Saturday afternoon at 5/2 on Boylesports.

The Eagles have delivered multiple goals in six of their last 10 top-flight outings, not to mention they hit three goals away from home against Fulham in the FA Cup last month.

Meanwhile, Man City have conceded a minimum of two goals in 13 of their 31 Premier League games this season, including two of their last three outings at the Etihad.
