LIVERPOOL will be looking to continue their mini-revival when they welcome West Ham United to Anfield in the Premier League on Wednesday night.
Mohamed Salah's second-half strike was enough to seal a memorable home win over Manchester City on Sunday, as the Reds pulled off their biggest league win of the season to date while condemning the champions to a first loss.
That triumph followed a 7-1 shredding of Rangers in the Champions League last midweek, so Jurgen Klopp's side should be feeling a lot better about themselves following a below-par start to the season.
The Reds will be looking to continue their resurgence by picking another three points when they play host to West Ham United this midweek.
The Hammers slow start to the season appears to be behind them, with David Moyes' men pocketing seven points from the last nine on offer in the Premier, the most recent of which was a 1-1 draw at Southampton on Sunday.
That south coast stalemate extended West Ham's unbeaten run in all competitions to five matches but it would be fair to say a trip to fortress Anfield will represent their toughest test of the season to date.
Outright Betting
Liverpool, who have now gone 28 top-flight games without suffering defeat at Anfield, are unsurprisingly short-priced 2/5 favourites with Bet 365.
West Ham have fallen to defeat in each of their last five visits to this venue and the bookmakers' odds suggest that sequence will continue, with an away win trading at 13/2 (William Hill) while the draw is also deemed unlikely as 15/4 (PaddyPower).
Betting Angles
Liverpool are too short to side with at the above-mentioned price but merging a home win and under five goals will bring about an enticing 19/20 (Ladbrokes) play.
While the Reds have claimed top honours in just three of their nine league games this season, they will be coming up against a West Ham side that are suffering from a sustained bout of travel sickness.
David Moyes' men make the trip north to Merseyside having failed to triumph in 11 of their last 13 top-flight road trips, slumping to defeat in a sizeable nine of those matches.
It's also worth pointing out that each of those nine losses featured four goals or fewer, and I see no reason to oppose a repeat here on a night where the Hammers will most likely set up to contain and counter where possible.
With the exception of Bournemouth and Rangers, Liverpool haven't been blowing teams away with an endless supply of goals this season, so I suspect the in-form hosts will secure a comfortable if unspectacular win against their capital opponents.
With this in mind, coupled with the fact the same combination has clicked in four of the Reds' five home wins this season, supporting the same wager on Wednesday night looks the way to go at 19/20 with Ladbrokes.
Now fully in the groove after a slow start to the season, I'll also back Mohamed Salah to get on the scoresheet at 11/0 with Bet 365.
The Liverpool talisman has racked up four strikes across his last two appearances and he looks nicely priced to continue his recent hot-streak in front of goal against a West Ham team that is not exactly renowned for being watertight.
