LEEDS UNITED will be aiming to record back-to-back wins in the Premier League for what would be only the second time this season when they face AFC Bournemouth at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.
Ahead of last weekend's visit to Liverpool, the Whites had failed to win any of their last eight league games, and as a result fans were starting to get restless with manager Jesse Marsch.
However, the Leeds chief relieved the pressure that was beginning to mount on his shoulders in spectacular fashion as he steered his side to a famous 2-1 win at Liverpool last Saturday.
The Yorkshire club will be hoping that Anfield success will act as a springboard for further improvement when they welcome Bournemouth to Elland Road this weekend.
The Cherries recent form would suggest the new manager bounce they received from interim boss Gary O'Neil is grinding to a halt.
The south coast club were up until fairly recently in the midst of a six-game unbeaten run, but they have since lost their subsequent three league games, the most recent of which saw them throw away a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 at home to Tottenham.
Outright Betting
Despite winning just one of their last nine Premier League matches, Leeds United enter this contest as odds-on 8/11 (Bet 365) favourites.
AFC Bournemouth, who have avoided defeat in four of their last five Premier League away matches, arrive in West Yorkshire as 15/4 (Bet 365) underdogs while the draw is an unfancied 14/5 (Bet 365).
Betting Angles
At the best of times, Leeds are difficult to trust at odds-on prices, so I'm happy to instead side with the 4/5 (SBK) on both teams getting on the scoresheet.
Leeds will certainly be buoyed by last Saturday's showing at Anfield and they should be capable of breaching a Bournemouth backline that have bagged just three Premier League clean sheets in 13 attempts this season.
It's also worth noting that the Cherries have yet to register a shutout in each of their six top-flight road trips this term to date, although they may get some joy at the top end of the park against a Leeds side that are far from watertight themselves.
Jesse Marsch's men have kept their own sheets clean on just two occasions this season so far, with the Whites leaking at least one goal in each of their last five top-flight fixtures.
What's more, four of the six sides to visit Elland Road this season so far have made the net ripple, and the Cherries could continue that trend given that they have notched in three of their last four away matches, one of which was at Newcastle.
I'll also head to the anytime goalscorer market and have a small play on Bournemouth's Kieffer Moore get on the scoresheet at 15/4 with Bet 365.
Leeds' well-documented set-piece vulnerability continues to linger so towering Cherries striker Moore – who notched twice against Tottenham last time out – looks a lovely price to capitalise on the Whites' aerial weakness this weekend.
