Manchester City’s shock slump has been one of the stories of the season and they head into his UEFA Champions League clash with Juventus in desperate need of a boost.
It looked like Pep Guardiola’s men would get back on track when they ended a seven-game winless run by swatting aside Nottingham Forest.
But they could only follow it up with a weekend draw at Crystal Palace, with more bets landing for Slips Tips, and attention now turns to salvaging their European campaign.
City have also been struggling in the Champions League and sit 17th in the table after following up a 4-1 loss at Sporting Lisbon by throwing away a 3-0 lead at home in their draw with Feyenoord.
Juventus away is never an easy fixture but the Italian giants have also been inconsistent in Europe and sit below City in the table on goal difference.
Too many draws have cursed new boss Thiago Motta and it ended in a 0-0 stalemate when they travelled to Aston Villa for their last Champions League outing.
How the bookies view it: Struggling City still hot favourites
Despite a run of just one win in nine games, Manchester City are Kwiff’s 41/50 hot favourites for this one. Juventus are 5/2 outsiders and another stalemate pays 21/10.
Head to head: Juve have the upper hand
These sides haven’t faced off since 2015, when Juventus won home and away in the Champions League group stage.
Across all six meetings, Manchester City have claimed just one victory. That was a 1-0 Maine Road win in their first showdown back in 1976 but Juventus overturned that with a 2-0 Turin victory to march on in the UEFA Cup.
Players to watch: Haaland good value at 23/20
Juventus have one of the meanest defences in Europe but Erling Haaland is always worth backing when odds-against for anytime scorer. Kwiff price the Manchester City talisman at 23/20 to add to his 18-goal tally.
Juventus have been leaning on striker Dusan Vlahovic for inspiration and the Serbian has three goals already in this European campaign. He’s 41/20 at Kwiff to score against City’s leaky defence.
Probable line-ups
Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso went off in the first half at the weekend and is unlikely to be fit. Juve are also set to be without Nicolas Gonzalez, Douglas Luiz, Weston McKennie, Arkadiusz Milik, Juan Cabal and Bremer.
Nathan Ake, Manuel Akanji and Phil Foden are doubts for City after missing out at the weekend. John Stones, Mateo Kovacic, Rodrand Oscar Bobb remain injured.
Juventus: Perin, Gatti, Danilo, Kalulu, Savona, Locatelli, Conceicao, Koopmeiners, Fagioli, Weah, Vlahovic.
Manchester City: Ortega, Walker, Dias, Gvardiol, Lewis, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Silva, Savinho, Grealish, Haaland.
Anything else catch the eye?
Juve’s clash with Aston Villa wasn’t a great watch but this should be a better spectacle due to the way City play.
Kwiff are offering 21/20 on BTTS and over 2.5 goals, which looks decent value after coming up in the last two European games for Guardiola’s side.
City have won 15-0, 11-1 and 10-2 on the corner count in their last three Champions League matches so that’s a market worth exploring after two bets landed for me in the draw with Feyenoord.
Backing the English champions at -2 in the corner handicap looks good value at 6/5 with BetVictor while over 6.5 City corners pays 7/5 at Unibet.
