Inter Milan vs Roma

, KO: 20:00 Feb 8, 2022, San Siro
Roma

After suffering defeat in the derby, Inter Milan host Roma in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals. The visitors have shown some good form lately but should find things difficult at the San Siro which has become a fortress for the Serie A champions.

Inter Milan warmed up for the visit of Roma with a 2-1 defeat to bitter rivals AC Milan in a Serie A fixture in Saturday. They failed to build on a first half lead from Ivan Perisic and were breached twice after the break.

Despite the result, Inter Milan remain on course for the domestic double as they set the pace in Serie A and also have a chance of reaching the semi-final of the Coppa Italia. Simone Inzaghi’s men have suffered just one defeat in their last nine matches across all competitions.

Home form remains pivotal for Inter Milan as the defeat to AC Milan was their first in 14 matches across all competitions. The one blemish for the Nerazzurri is a leaky defence that has conceded in their last five matches.

Roma also failed to win last time out in Serie A as they were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Genoa. It was a disappointing outing for the capital club as Nicolo Zaniolo was shown a red card while Tammy Abraham also saw a late effort ruled out by VAR.

While Jose Mourinho will be disappointed not to have claimed the win, the result extends Roma's unbeaten run to four matches across all competitions. They have claimed three wins in that run, including a 3-1 victory over Leece in the previous round of the Coppa Italia.

It has been a generally inconsistent campaign for Roma, who also have a poor record against the top sides this season. They have lost to AC Milan and Juventus and suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Inter Milan when both teams met in Serie A.

How the bookies view it

Recent head to head

Inter Milan are unbeaten in the last nine matches against Roma and have won the last two meetings. The Nerazzurri have already beaten their visitors this season, claiming a 3-0 victory in a Serie A fixture back in December.

Edin Dzeko will be looking to get one over on his former club and could be worth keeping an eye on for Inter Milan. The Bosnian striker was on target the last time he faced Roma and is priced at 5/4 with bet365 to find the net on Tuesday.

Tammy Abraham is the man in form for Roma with nine goals in his last 10 matches across all competitions. Bet365 has the England striker at odds of 12/5 to find the net on Tuesday.
