Heidenheim will take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga on Sunday, 1 December in a significant match at both ends of the league table.
After their fairytale season last year, Heidenheim have dropped down the league table this season and look as if they are going to be embroiled in a relegation battle.
Eintracht Frankfurt, meanwhile, are on the brink of enjoying a fairytale of their own. They are flying in the Europa League and are currently second in the Bundesliga.
How the bookies view it: The visitors go in as favourites
Eintracht Frankfurt go in to this match as the favourites with the bookies which shouldn't come as a surprise given the contrasting form of the two sides. Kwiff have priced an away win at 1.82 while a win for Heidenheim has been priced at 3.40. The draw, which would be a better result for the hosts, has been priced at 3.20.
Recent head-to-head: Advantage Frankfurt
Due to Heidenheim's recent meteoric rise, this is only the third time in history that these two clubs have met in a competitive match. Last season, in Heidenheim's first-ever season in the Bundesliga, Frankfurt completed the double over them, winning 2-0 at home and 2-1 away. Their only other previous meeting came in the cup back in 2017.
Players to watch: A Marm in demand
Omar Marmoush is having the season of his life at Eintracht Frankfurt and the Egyptian forward has now scored 11 goals and provided seven assists in just 11 Bundesliga appearances. On top of that, he has scored four goals and provided four assists in the cup and Europa League.
To say his form is being noted would be an understatement with a whole host of clubs across Europe reportedly in the hunt for his signature. The 25-year-old is being heavily linked with a move to Liverpool, due to his relationship with Mo Salah, and he will be keen to add to his goal and assist tallies this weekend.
As far as Heidenehim are concerned, one match to watch is Niklas Dorsch. The midfielder, who signed for the club in the summer from Augsburg, registered a goal and an assist in the loss to Bayer Leverkusen last week and is perhaps their most creative player with Marvin Pieringer injured.
Predicted line-ups
Heidenheim will be without their top goalscorer, Marvin Pieringer, for this one but he isn't the only absentee as Marnon Busch and Luka Janes will also miss out. Eintracht Frankfurt have injury problems, too, and will be without Oscar Hojlund, Sasa Kalajdzic and Aurele Amenda for the trip to Heidenheim.
Heidenheim: Muller – Traore, Mainka, Gimber, Fohrenbach – Maloney, Dorsch, Schoppner – Wanner, Breunig, Kaufmann
Eintracht Frankfurt: Trapp – Collins, Koch, Theate, Brown – Gotze, Larsson, Tuta, Knauff – Marmoush, Ekitike
Anything else catch the eye?
Heidenheim have struggled at the back in recent weeks which isn't ideal preparation when you have Omar Marmoush in town. They have conceded two or more goals in each of their last three matches in all competitions and Eintracht Frankfurt have been priced at 1.78 with Kwiff to score over 2.5 goals on Sunday.
