Eintracht Frankfurt's streak without a loss ended the moment they met a top team and it could all get even worse after they meet the defending champions Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.
Eintracht Frankfurt hadn't lost a Bundesliga game in 2025, but Bayern Munich brought them back to reality with a resounding 4-0 last round. Losing to the Bavarians at the Allianz Arena is a perfectly normal thing, but the Eagles failed to create a single truly dangerous chance in 90 minutes and only managed two shots on target.
All in all, their level has dropped considerably since the departure of Omar Marmoush and it's quite evident how they often struggle in the final third. Before the recent defeat, they also conceded three consecutive draws, which as a result ended their participation in the title race. Eintracht can't afford any more missteps because Freiburg, Mainz, and RB Leipzig are just three and four points away.
The champions, on the other hand, continue to dream of defending their title, but by the looks of things, it will remain a dream. They failed to beat Bayern Munich two weeks ago, although they dominated the entire game, and remained eight points off the top. The Bavarians are in uncompromising form and Xabi Alonso's team only have to keep winning and hope for late mistakes.
