Dundee will look to make it back-to-back wins in the Scottish League Cup on Saturday afternoon as they welcome Montrose to Dens Park.
Steven Pressley is already a man under pressure, as his new Dundee side began their League Cup campaign with defeats to lower-league opposition.
The Dark Blues lost 0-1 at home to Championship side Airdrieonians in their group opener, before losing away at League One Alloa in the next game, in which our man Kevin Mac correctly backed Under 2.5 Goals at 13/10.
Things looked as if they were going to get worse for Pressley on Tuesday night, with his side drawing 1-1 at Bonnyrigg Rose, but a couple of late strikes gave the ex-Hearts captain his first win as Dark Blues boss.
Similarly to their hosts, Montrose are stuck on three points in Group C, having lost 2-1 at home to Montrose and away at Alloa by the same scoreline.
The Gable Endies' solitary victory came in a 4-1 success at home to whipping boys Bonnyrigg Rose, but their trip to the city of discovery will be a step up in class.
How the bookies view it: Dundee favourites
Despite an unconvincing group stage so far, Dundee have been installed as short-priced favourites, with BoyleSports pricing The Dark Blues at just 1/5 to win inside 90 minutes.
Montrose are a massive 10/1 to heap more pressure on Steven Pressley, whilst the stalemate is 5/1, all with BoyleSports.
Head to head: Dark Blues advantage
These two clubs have met twice in this competition in the past 15 years, with Dundee winning 3-0 at home and 0-2 away.
Players to watch: Acquah to find the target again?
New signing Emile Acquah was the hero for Dundee in midweek, scoring the crucial second with just four minutes to go. The ex-Barrow frontman will be looking to score goals in back-to-back games, but bookies are unlikely to offer goalscorer markets once again.
Ewan Loudon has scored in consecutive matches for the Gable Endies and will look to trouble a vulnerable Dundee defence.
Predicted line-ups:
Steven Pressley may name a similar lineup to the one that got his first win as Dark Blues boss in midweek, although match-winner Emile Acquah will be pushing for a start.
Montrose were forced into a change at the start of the second half in their defeat with Airdrieonians in midweek, with 16-year-old Campbell Millar forced to come on in goals to replace Aaron Clark, with the teenager expected to start here.
Dundee: McCracken, Ingram, Robertson, Ashley, Koumetio, Wright, Digby, Robertson, Garza, Murray, Acquah
Montrose: Millar, Steeves, Quinn, Waddell, Mason, Webster, Loudon, Wighton, Freeman, Shrive, Brown
Anything else catch the eye?
As alluded to, Dundee have struggled so far against lower league opposition, failing to keep a clean sheet in any of their three group-stage matches, and Both Teams to Score pays 5/6 at BoyleSports.
Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals has paid out in all three of Montrose’s League Cup contests, and a repeat pays an appealing 23/20 at BoyleSports.
5/6 of both teams' combined matches in Group C have seen most goals arrive in the second half, and a repeat of that pays 20/23 at BoyleSports.
