RANGERS will be aiming to make it two wins from two in the Scottish Premiership when they take on Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday lunchtime.
Steven Gerrard's side began their title defence with a 3-0 win over Livingston last weekend, on an afternoon where both of my recommended Bet Builders banked.
That triumph means that the Teddy Bears Premiership unbeaten streak now stands at a whopping 40 games ahead of this weekend's trip to the City of Discovery.
That said, Gerrard and Co face a fight to keep their Champions League campaign alive following a 2-1 defeat at Malmo in midweek.
Dundee United, meanwhile, opened the Tam Courts era in the top-flight with a 2-0 defeat at Aberdeen last Sunday, another game where I delivered a winning Bet Builder.
The appointment of Courts was met with backlash by some sections of the Tangerines fanbase and the former United youth supremo can expect little respite when Rangers come to town.
Outright Betting
Dundee United are unsurprisingly big underdogs at 15/1 (Betfair) while the draw is also deemed unlikely at 11/2 with Bet 365.
Rangers won all three meetings last season and a repeat here is heavily fancied at a lowly 2/9 (William Hill).
Betting Angles
There is little value in siding with Rangers at the aforementioned odds so I'll head to Bet 365‘s Bet Builder to get a bigger price.
If we combine Rangers to win, under six match goals and over one Dundee United card we will be presented with a backable 4/5 (Bet 365) punt.
Rangers didn't lose a league game last term and conceded a mere 13 goals on their march to the title, which highlights their defensive aptitude.
What's more, Gerrard's charges boasted the division's deadliest frontline as they racked up 97 goals when sweeping all before them in Scotland last season.
With all that in mind, I'm happy to combine a Rangers win and under six match goals, but in order to nudge up the price, I'll back Dundee United to see at least two cards.
Courts' crew clocked up three cards when slumping to defeat at Pittodrie last Sunday and they could well revert to the dark arts on home turf in their bid to thwart the champions.
With all things considered, the 13/10 (PaddyPower) about Rangers to win, Rangers to take the most corners and Dundee United to receive the most cards also makes appeal.
The aforementioned combination clicked for me last weekend and with Rangers again expected to dominate the ball for long stages here, I'm more than happy to support the same formula at Tannadice on Saturday.
I'll also dip into the player card market where Dundee midfielder Calum Butcher is perhaps worth a speculative punt at 17/2 (William Hill ) to receive the first caution of the game.
The tough-tackling Terror, who was booked last weekend, is all too familiar with the referee's notebook – Butcher totted up 10 cards last term – and he looks nicely priced to collect the first card of this contest as United try to combat the juggernaut that is Steven Gerrard's Rangers.
