BURNLEY and Southampton will be desperate to get their first Premier League points on the board when they square up at Turf Moor.
Both these sides surpassed expectations last season, with Saints recovering from a dismal start to finish 11th, just two points and one place below Sean Dyche's men.
But their squads are arguably now weaker, with Burnley losing Jeff Hendrick to Newcastle and Saints selling Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Spurs without adding significant reinforcements.
Hojberg helped Tottenham romp to a 5-2 win at St Mary's last weekend and that made it three defeats in a row for Saints after losing to Crystal Palace in the league opener then Brentford in the EFL Cup.
Ralph Hasenhuttl won't be panicking yet after last season's dramatic turnaround but a fourth defeat in succession at Turf Moor will raise more than a few concerns.
Burnley's start has been a mixed bag, seeing off Sheffield United and Millwall in the EFL Cup but losing 4-2 at Leicester in their only Premier League game so far.
Dyche remains one of the league's best managers and his side have lost just one of their last eight league games at Turf Moor so he will be targeting three points from this match.
How the bookies view it
Despite having home advantage, the bookies make Burnley outsiders at a best 23/10 with Betfred and that looks overpriced. Southampton are 13/10 with most firms and the stalemate 47/20 at Unibet.
Recent head to head
Burnley have bossed this fixture of late, going seven games without defeat since a 3-1 away loss in 2016. Their home record is even better as Southampton haven't won at Turf Moor for 13 years.
Both matches last season ended in victories for Dyche's side, winning 3-0 at Turf Moor (below) before a 2-1 triumph at St Mary's.
Players to watch
Chris Wood got off the mark at Leicester last weekend and the target man seems to be Burnley's best bet for a goal at 15/8 with Bet365.
A Danny Ings double was the only highlight for Saints in their mauling by Spurs and he's a best 5/4 with Paddy Power for anytime scorer here. The odds increase to 7/2 with the same firm if you back him to break the deadlock.
Anything else catch the eye?
Burnley and Southampton shipped nine goals between them last weekend, helping our man Slips Tips with his both teams to score bet. I can see that coming up here too and both teams to score pays 10/11 with Bet365.
Burnley are set-piece masters and my tip of a header to be scored trapped last week when Jimmy Dunne nodded home a consolation. The bookies haven't priced that market up yet but I'll keep my eyes peeled because I fancy another headed goal in this one.
