BOURNEMOUTH will look to take their frustrations out on Swansea City in the FA Cup after a demoralising weekend for them when they were taken apart by Liverpool.
The Cherries lost 4-0 at home yet arguably had the better chances in the first half where they missed far too many opportunities. They were made to pay after the break when an impressive Liverpool swept them aside.
They now have two Thursday night games in succession starting with the Welsh side in the FA Cup before they play West Ham away next week.
In the last round, Bournemouth also played Championship opposition and they were handed a major fright when they trailed 2-0 at QPR.
But three second half goals turned the game around and they were rewarded with a favourable draw.
Swansea are in a disappointing 16th place in the second tier and they already look set for a bit of a meh season – they are ten points behind a play-off spot and nine points clear of relegation.
In the last round, they eased past League Two Morecamble in a 2-0 home win, but were well beaten at the weekend by Southampton at home.
But since October, they have only won once away from home.
How the bookies view it
Bournemouth are solid favourites at 2/7 with bet365. Swansea City can be backed at 10/1 with Coral and the draw is 5/1 with Betfred.
Recent head to heads
The sides have actually already met this season despite Bournemouth being in a higher league when they clashed in the Carabao Cup and the Cherries won that game 3-2 in an entertaining tie in Wales.
Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last 12 meetings between the clubs.
Players to watch
Marcus Tavernier, like his brother at Rangers, James, chips in with plenty of goals and netted in the last round at QPR. He is 12/5 to score anytime with bet365.
Jerry Yates has scored seven goals for the Swans and is their top scorer. He netted in the last round and is 4/1 to score anytime with bet365.
Anything else catch the eye?
There were five goals when the sides met in August and there should be goals again when the teams clash again at the Vitality.
Bournemouth are so end-to-end and they do give chances away and teams like Liverpool and Spurs the other week too, are clinical and punished them. They should be too strong for Swansea though.
Swansea can certainly make a fight of it and can find the target in a both teams to score defeat with Bournemouth a fair price at 15/8 with William Hill.
We cleaned up at the weekend with 9/2 on the hosts to get over six corners – they managed eight. So let's go for over ten corners with bet365 at 11/10. There were 12 when the sides met earlier this season.
