AC MILAN will look to continue their quest for a first Serie A title in 10 years when they welcome Crotone to the San Siro on Sunday.
Stefano Pioli's side were handed their second defeat of the season a fortnight ago, but the Rossoneri rebounded with a 2-1 win at Bologna last Saturday.
That triumph kept Milan at the top of the table but they have since been leapfrogged by fierce foes Inter who won 2-0 at Fiorentina on Friday, on a night where my recommended Bet Builder landed.
Indeed, Inter have laid down the gauntlet to their city rivals but AC Milan will be confident of reclaiming top spot when relegation-threatened Crotone come calling.
Giovanni Stroppa's side are propping up the table and go into this clash on the back of a deflating 3-0 defeat at home to Genoa.
That means Crotone have lost five of their last six league fixtures and it's now just three wins all season for the beleaguered Red and Blue who appear to be hurtling back towards Serie B.
Outright Betting
AC Milan have avoided defeat in 30 of their last 32 Serie A assignments and the hosts are red-hot favourites here at 2/9 with TonyBet
Crotone have lost each of their last four away matches and the bookies odds suggest that trend is set to continue with an away win priced up at a whopping 14/1 with BetVictor, while the draw is also deemed unlikely at 11/2 with the same firm.
Betting Angles
There is little value in siding with AC Milan at the aforementioned odds so instead I'll head to Bet 365's bet Builder to put together a same game multiple.
If we combine AC Milan to win, AC Milan to score over one goal and Crotone to receive over one card we will be presented with a backable 4/5 (Bet 365) punt.
AC Milan have won 14/20 of their Serie A matches this season – the highest tally in the division – and this is the type of the assignment that they have been particularly efficient in dealing with.
What's more, Milan have made the net bulge at least twice in 18 of their 20 Italian top-flight tussles this term and that does not bode well for a Crotone team who have the leakiest backline in the league.
With that in mind, I'm more than happy to back the hosts to notch up at least two strikes on Sunday but I'll also back the visitors to receive over one card during this contest.
Crotone sit third in the disciplinary standings with their 2.75 yellow cards per game average this term and attack-minded AC Milan are drawing 2.4 cards from their opponents this season.
Referee Luca Pairetto will officiate this clash his and his 4.83 card per game average adds to the appeal of adding bookings to the above-mentioned Bet Builder.
I'll also dip into the team to score in both halves market and take AC Milan to make the net ripple either side of the interval at 19/20 with William Hill.
AC have scored in both halves in four of their last seven Serie A matches and a repeat here against a creaky Crotone defence looks like a nice way of trying to squeeze some value out of what looks like a bit of a mismatch.
