ABERDEEN'S impressive bandwagon finally came to a shuddering halt last week and the question will be whether that was a blip in the road or a bubble burst.
And we will go some of the way of finding out on Saturday night when Dundee visit.
The Dons' incredible 100 per cent record well and truly ended last week with a 6-0 hammering by an in-form Celtic at Hampden in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final.
It was a game too far for several of Jimmy Thelin's side who looked like they were running on empty after a midweek win over Rangers.
They will have had a week to lick their wounds and play their fourth sold-out home game in a row at Pittodrie against Dundee and they remain joint top of the Premiership with Celtic.
Tony Docherty's side have been up and down recently and that was perfectly illustrated last week when they recovered from two goals down at home to Kilmarnock to win 3-2 for a much-needed home win.
They are certainly one of the more entertaining sides in the league and there's no reason to believe this shouldn't be another exciting affair.
How the bookies view it: Aberdeen solid odds-on shots
Aberdeen are odds-on but not prohibitively so at 4/6 with UniBet.
Dundee are 19/5 with William Hill and the draw is 19/5 with UniBet.
Recent head to heads: Dons hold advantage this term
Aberdeen won an extremely hard-fought 2-1 win at Dens Park this season after holding off a Dundee fightback.
But the Dons have a very good record against the Dee at Pittodrie – they are unbeaten in their last 16 meetings there.
Players to watch: Jamie a set-piece threat
Jamie McGrath has been in excellent form for Aberdeen this season and although the Irish international fluffed a penalty against Rangers, he will retain those duties and is also good with free kicks. He is 10/3 to score anytime with bet365.
Simon Murray is the Dundee captain and always a goal threat. He is two goals away from double figures for the season in all competitions and is 3/1 to net anytime with UniBet.
Predicted line-ups:
Aberdeen are only missing the injured Papa Gueye for Saturday.
Dundee could be without Trevor Carson, Scott Fraser and Joe Shaughnessy.
Aberdeen: Mitov, Devlin, Rubezic, Molloy, Mackenzie, Palvara, Nilsen; Keskinen, Clarkson, McGrath; Nisbet.
Dundee: McCracken, Ingram, Astley, Robertson, Portales, Larkeche, Sylla, Cameron, Adewumi, Palmer-Houlden, Murray.
Anything else catch the eye?
There should be goals at both ends here with two teams who like to attack and the call is for a home win and both teams to score – which happened when the sides met already this season. – at 12/5 with bet365.
Aberdeen faced Dundee United a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday night too but Dundee are likely to have far more of a go than the Tannadice side did.
To continue in the entertainment theme, go for both teams to score in the second half as there's usually plenty of late drama at Pittodrie. It's 9/4 with bet365.
