Non League Betting Tips

In this week's Non-League betting tips, we preview the York City vs Hartlepool, Barnet vs Oldham, and Maidenhead vs Forest Green fixtures.

York City vs Hartlepool

York City are poised for a strong performance against Hartlepool United in their upcoming match. With a record of 10 wins, five draws, and one loss, and a goal difference of 28-9, York have demonstrated consistent form.

Their home record is imposing, with six wins, one draw, and one loss, scoring two or more goals in five out of eight matches and securing five clean sheets. Conceding only four goals at home highlights their solid defence. Ranked third on xPTS, York has been effective in creating opportunities, with a high number of shots and touches in the opposition's penalty area.

In contrast, Hartlepool United have had a mixed season, recording five wins, six draws, and five losses, with a goal tally of 15 scored and 16 conceded.

Their away form includes three wins, two draws, and three losses, with no clean sheets in their last six away games and only eight goals scored on the road. Hartlepool ranks ninth on xPTS and sixth for the lowest expected xGA, indicating a relatively strong defence. However, their inconsistent performance against top teams may pose challenges in this fixture.

Given these statistics, York City's robust home performance and attacking capabilities suggest they are well-positioned to secure a favourable result against Hartlepool United.

Barnet vs Oldham

Barnet and Oldham are set for an exciting, high-scoring match, with both teams displaying significant attacking prowess. Barnet, currently at W11-D0-L5, have scored 34 goals this season, averaging 2.13 per game.

However, their defence remains vulnerable, with 20 goals conceded (1.25 per game) and only five clean sheets, mainly against lower-tier teams. Barnet’s home form is particularly strong, with eight consecutive wins and two or more goals scored in seven of those matches, leading to an average of 3.38 total goals in home games.

They rank first on xPTS and touches in the opposition box but concede 1.25 goals from an xGA of 0.86.

Oldham, sitting fifth in the league, has a balanced record of W8-D6-L2, with both teams scoring, landing in 11 of 16 games. They concede an average of 1.06 goals per game and have scored in all their matches this season.

Their away form is solid at W4-D3-L1, with both sides finding the net in all eight away games, averaging a match total of 3.13 goals. Additionally, Oldham has scored two or more goals in their last four away games, marking them as a tough opponent for Barnet’s defence.

Maidenhead vs Forest Green

Forest Green Rovers look primed for victory against Maidenhead, with strong form backing their campaign this season. Rovers hold an impressive W10-D4-L2 record, with their only two losses against top-ranked teams Barnet and Oldham.

After a slow start, with just one win in their first four games, they’ve surged to nine wins in their last twelve. Their away form is solid as well, standing at W5-D3-L2 while conceding a mere 0.80 goals per game. Even after a schedule heavy on away games due to pitch issues, they rank second in the league, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.

In contrast, Maidenhead has struggled throughout, with a W4-D4-L8 record. Their home performance stands at W2-D3-L3, without a single clean sheet.

Maidenhead has failed to score in three home matches and have managed only one win against top-half teams. Sitting 19th in the standings and 15th on xPTS, they have shown defensive weaknesses, conceding 1.25 goals at home from an xGA of 1.14. Maidenhead’s 16th rank for xG also indicates issues with chance conversion.

With Forest Green’s potent offence and Maidenhead’s defensive frailties, the Rovers are well-positioned to control the game and likely secure the win.
