Today we only have four NBA games on the schedule, but that's still plenty of betting options to choose from. So, here are my NBA betting tips for today:
All odds for my NBA predictions are taken from Paddy Power and subject to change.
Washington Wizards vs Boston Celtics: Celtics over 122.5 total points @ 8/11
Last season Washington Wizards have allowed their opponents to score more points than any other team — 123 points per game. Their defence won't be much better this season, if at all, so with the champions coming to town, the Wizards are in for a rough night.
The Celtics have started the new season with a win over NY Knicks, in which they scored 132 points, so they seem to be quite ready for another challenge this term. Finally, the Celtics gone over the 122.5 line in all four of their duels with the Wizards last season, so I don't see why they can't do it again tonight.
Dallas Mavericks vs San Antonio Spurs: Victor Wembanyama over 10.5 rebounds @ 4/6
The reigning Rookie of the Year was spectacular last season, but that was only the start of Wemby's era. While we are likely still far from seeing his absolute best given how young he is, Wembanyama should have a better season than last one when he averaged 10.6 rebounds per game.
Furthermore, Wemby's numbers have gotten much better since the Spurs started playing him at centre position, which will be the case from the start of this season. The Mavs have a couple of great options under the basket in Gafford and Lively, but Wemby should still be able to pick at least 11 rebounds against them.
Sacramento Kings vs Minnesota Timberwolves: Over 221 total points @ 9/10
The Kings are known for playing fast-paced basketball with many points. After all, they were eighth in the entire league last season in points per game, scoring an average of 116.4 points per game. Meanwhile, they also allow plenty of points to their opponents, 114.5 on average, based on the last season.
So, while the Timberwolves are a good defensive team, we can see this game going over 221 total points. After all, two of the three duels between Kings and Wolves last season have gone well over that line.
