IT was the day Hibs crashed back to earth with a bump and Rangers showed why Celtic will win the league with ease.
Hibs' defeat at home to Hamilton was for me the surprise of the day while I expected Rangers to beat a poor Hearts team.
I was a goal out on a couple of other bets but all in all it was a rare blank day on the top tips and I was only consoled slightly by wins on Bet of the Day and the Betting Club.
There weren't as many goals as expected and it was a tough for everyone but there was a star of the show with Selectabet's goals trixie winning for a return of 16.52pts.
Desmond had one winner out of three and Scott Allot's 18-5 European treble was beaten late on by Sevilla.
There's plenty to like about Sunday's card – but I said that about Saturday – and I'm hoping to add to August's profit by recouping some of Saturday's losses.
Game of the day is Spurs v Chelsea and if it wasn't at Wembley I'd be all over the home win. Spurs will be confident of breaking their Wembley hoodoo but look a little short at 11-10. Harry Kane will be a popular choice to score or score first but he still hasn't netted in August after drawing a blank at Newcastle last week.
The other Premier League game sees Newcastle travel to fellow promoted side Huddersfield and that's not an easy one to call.
Real Madrid kick off La Liga at Deportivo who they've beaten eight times in a row while Barcelona are at home to Real Betis as they bid to get back on track. Cristiano Ronaldo is banned for Real but they've found a new star in Marco Asensio who netted in both legs against Barca and is 7-4 with bet365 to score today.
There are eight games in Serie including Atalanta v Roma and Lazio against Serie A new boys Spal. Another newcomer Benevento head for Sampdoria. Spal and Benevento have enjoyed two successive promotions but this is a massive step up for them.
In Germany I like the look of Borussia Monchengladbach at home to a Cologne side who will miss striker Anthony Modeste who has left for China.
And in France Neymar makes his home bow for PSG against Toulouse and will be a popular first-scorer pick. I'm taking a chance on the £200million Brazilian at 11-4 with unibet.

Somehow Saturday was good day.
Four trebles came in from tips all over here. I lost an 2 very good accas of over 0,5fhg thanks to Hibs and a five hold thanks to Pasto.
On halftime I made a next goal bet for Liverpool and watford which came in and the same tip I made Ael Limassol and Montpelier after 60 minutes. Those 2 save my day.
But, I had also a thought that man.utd will win 4-0 as the first game, i was ready to make the tip on halftime but when Luck don’t wants you, you just can’t do nothing, internet went off for almost 40 minutes and when came back already was 3-0….
Can I suggest: mr F, can you make a different threat so all we can put there our one top SS? I cannot imagine how much all we can win if all come up….

I take my hat off to you for being man enough to come on and say that.
first of all you need to admit you have a problem, and if you chase losses which are beyond what you can afford there is a problem.
a guy called horsing around a while back went through a similar process in that he lost over a grand in one bet and swore that was it and retired.
but lo and behold he returned had a few weeks of ups and downs then boooom, he chased his losses with one hail mary single and blew a load of money which was for family purposes.
to this day I remember his final post here and I could feel his pain, and it seriously nearly made me weep for him.
thankfully he has stayed true to his vow to stop and I have seen no further posts from him, and I hope he has got his life back together.
in your case that money has gone, re evaluate your life from today financially, go to sites who deal with these issues if necessary and don’t be afraid to talk about it with close friends, bottling it up will not help in the long run.
when you are back on track if you fancy a flutter, stick to a tenner once or twice a week.
if you lose its only a tenner, no point in chasing a tenner is it ?
if you win say a 4-1 treble with your tenner, put the £40 winnings towards something useful, like buying family members a wee pressy, this will make you feel twice the man rather than ploughing your winnings back into the bookies hands, which is generally what happens long term.
