AFTER Rangers let many of us down on Friday night the Scottish Cup games went mostly to form – although Aberdeen again made heavy weather of beating minnows.
The only shock was Ayr knocking out Premiership Ross County but it wasn't a huge surprise.
Most of the top-flight sides ran up big scores except Aberdeen who needed a late penalty to see off Dumbarton and Celtic who conceded in the dying seconds as they beat Partick Thistle 2-1..
I was cursing St Mirren's display for the most of the match but they eventually covered the -2 handicap against little Broxburn to give me a 7.2pts win on the Top Treble.
Watford's penalty miss against Spurs meant the Super Single was void as will the moneyback fivefold if Nottingham Forest beat Luton at lunchtime.
I had a 35-1 winner for three draws on the VIP Tips and was one goal away from the 158-1 fourfold – while Watford downed a 73-1 moneyback fivefold long shot.
So it was a decent that could have been a great on and well done to all the other winners including SlipsTips with a cracking 25-1 card double.
Sunday sees Liverpool take on a Man United side that's been the only one to take points off them this season. I'm on a home win by one or two as they aim to move even further ahead at the top.
Also in the Premier League we have Burnley v Leicester and I expect a response from the Foxes after last week's defeat at home to Southampton.
I'm obviously on Nottm Forest to beat Luton and I reckon Dundee United will avoid defeat at home to Hibs on the final Scottish Cup fourth-round tie.
On the Continent big games include Barcelona v Granada, Juventus v Parma and Bordeaux v Lyon.
My Euro goals treble starts with btts at Hertha Berlin v Bayern Munich. Hertha have netted exactly two in their last three meetings with the champs and also drew 2-2 in Munich in August. Bayern have kept one clean sheet in five so this has every chance – alternatively do over 2.5 match goals at a smaller price.
Add Juventus and over 2.5 match goals at home to Parma. The last three meetings in Turin have produced 16 goals including a 7-0 Juve win and Parma must fear the worst after last weekend's 5-0 defeat at home to Atalanta.
I had a few contenders for the third choice including btts at Bilbao v Celta and Betis v Sociedad but I've gone for Inter and over 1.5 match goals at Lecce. Title contenders Inter should win comfortably against a side that's lost four out of five and while over 2.5 should land I'm taking over 1.5 as Lecce are unlikely to contribute.
Having tipped Liverpool, Forest and Leicester to win on my preview posted on Friday I'm doing an English treble.
I'm around 27pts up on the accas over the past eight days but the Super Singles total is disappointing and I hoped Watford would have helped out yesterday.
I was going to put up Dundee United to win at 2-1 but having seen how easily most of the Premiership beat lower-league rivals yesterday I'm going safer with United draw no bet at home to Hibs.

In order for you to get your money back you’d have to put it all on a minimum even money gamble and win the bet.
If the probability of winning that bet is 50% then the actual bet you made was only 1/2 the value of the bet you made on your 5 fold.
Thus is the case because your initial stake is never returned.
I think everyone should know that your bet getting returned equates to 1/2 your original stake.

Nathan Liverpool had a 15 minute spell where they were scinintilating and tried to kill the game off but didn’t. Other than that United were the dominant team. Fred and Matic ran the midfield we were just found short in the final 3rd coz we havn’t got the players to do it. Yes it was everything and we weren’t good enough but we will be in the next 2/3 years.

To be fair Newt there was a massive gulf between United and Liverpool,before rds chance the Scousers could easily have scored 4/5 goals and i just cant see Ole having what it takes to bridge the gap with Liverpool ans City. Another underdog who appears to be shortening, Popyrin’s star is on the rise. Despite registering down at number 87 in the world, there isn’t expected to be much between him and the former world number 5 here, despite Tsonga’s big game and far bigger edge in experience. Popyrin brings a lot of firepower of his own, as well as the backing of a passionate Aussie crowd, to this matchup, and Tsonga, with just one unconvincing performance under his belt in 2020, may get beaten at his own game.
Zverev, the talented but unconvincing German is opening against Ceccinato, a talented player who would be a much shorter price if this were taking place on a clay court. As it is, Zverev is a huge favourite here, as short as 1/16, but I have enough doubts about him to warrant taking on the Italian underdog, who is steady and tricky enough to run Zverev closer than expected. Zverev has looked shaky of late, his emotions and serve all over the place during the ATP cup, and too often he doesn’t show up for the big occasion, or for the big moments in matches.

Quarter 1 winner – Thiem @ 6/1 Auger Aliassime @28/1
The first quarter is headed up by Rafa Nadal, who has a good looking draw here, with Nick Kyrgios, a man as likely to deliver as not, the only credible threat until the round of 32. Assuming he gets that far, he’s projected to meet Thiem, who I’m hoping is facing off against Auger Aliassime while Kyrgios and Rafa trade blows. Thiem has come a long, long way on hard courts in the past year or so, and has matched up very well against Rafa in the past. He’s certainly got the game to challenge the world number one, who wasn’t entirely convincing and ran out of steam a little, in the ATP cup, on any surface other than clay. Auger Aliassime has plenty of weapons of his own, though is a long way from Thiem when it comes from experience and proving himself on the biggest stages. A long shot for sure, but he was playing some great tennis last week, nearly taking champion Rublev out in Adelaide, and has a nice draw early on.
Quarter 2 Winner -Rublev @9/1 Basilashvilli @ 80/1
I’m a big fan of Basilashvili and his entertaining brand of aggressive tennis. It doesn’t always work out for him, but when he’s really on, he can seriously test just about anyone. He has a decent first couple of rounds here. He opens against Kwon Soon, whom he should get past, and then I’d fancy him against Verdasco in round 2 and to then have a great shot at upsetting Zverev in R3, who looked to have some real issues with his serve and confidence in the ATP cup and who normally flops when the slams come around. He would very likely have to play Rublev after that, a different prospect entirely, but whether the red hot Russian is still running on a full tank at that point, after busy start to the season, remains to be seen. The biggest hurdle for anyone to have to overcome in their bid to emerge from this quarter is Medvedev, who I expect to win the quarter and possibly go all the way. At a best price of 6/5 he doesn’t really offer much value though.
Where Medvedev offers a little more value in the ‘to reach the final’ market, where you can get 4/1.
Rublev, if he does have a lot left to give physically, is the far more obvious choice to upset the Medvedev party in this section of the draw. He came into 2020 off the back of a wonderful showing for Russia in the Davis Cup, and he’s been unbeatable so far this year, with back to back titles to his name. The youngster’s unquestionable talent has now been bolstered by an ability to stay composed and play the big points well throughout the duration of matches and tournaments. If he can avoid lengthy, energy sapping matches early on here, he has a great chance of continuing his incredible momentum.
Quarter 3 Winner – Hurcakz @ 22/1 Umbert @ 100/1
The 3rd quarter is led by Roger Federer, who hasn’t played a single match in the build up to Melbourne, but who nearly always turns up and delivers during Grand Slam fortnight. Despite the minor uncertainty that comes with no warm up matches and his advancing years, one still expects him to come through his quarter as usual, but there’s no value in backing him to do so @5/4. Instead I’ll look to two men who have played a lot of matches already this season and impressed hugely in the process, Umbert and Hurcakz. One of them will knock the other out, assuming they get through fairly challenging openers, but the man still standing will be brimming with confidence and well placed to take a swing at Federer if he’s a little way off his imperious best.
Quarter 4 Winner – Tsitsipas @ 6/1. Bautista Agut @ 20/1
Obvious picks here, if picking anyone other than Djokovic to emerge from this quarter can be called obvious at all. Tsitsipas continues to impress with his talent and his big game mentality, and the always impressive Bautista Agut is in the form of his life. Both men have kind looking draws until they’re projected to meet, though Paire could challenge RBA if he isn’t knackered (which he presumably will be after the customary five set epics in the opening rounds) Tsitsipas has the bigger game, but RBA has a decent record against Djokovic in his favor, having won 3 of their 11 meetings and 2 of the last 3.

Women’s is nearly always a nightmare! I fancied Andreescu to carry on her meteoric rise and be the player to beat here. With her absent I’d probably go with Barty.
