I'VE got that Friday feeling again and that means a quick glance at the card before concentrating on Saturday's games.
Every week I say I don't have time to look at the fixtures and I've decided not to put up Friday tips unless I have a schedule at the Record that allows me time for research – for example having a Thursday and/or Friday off.
Anyway there are so many other good tips posted on a Friday my advice to punters is to look at those including Greg's French Ligue 2 selections.
By this time of the week I usually know my Saturday selections so instead of putting up a Friday tip I'm going to post an early weekend bet that won't be featured anywhere else.
This week's is a long shot although I'm confident of two out of three parts landing so will do doubles and the treble. Watford could be my Super Single at Newcastle and they could cover the -1 handicap which is a big price at 11-2.
I also expect convincing wins for Celtic at home to Hearts and Rangers at St Mirren in the early game. All three matches will feature in my previews posted on Friday night but if you think the treble has a chance try it alone or take doubles and the treble.
A 2pt double on Celtic -1 and Rangers -1 pays 12-5 at betfair so if Watford flop there will still be profit doing the advised bets.
Well done to all the winners last night including shortee and jamesylfc and keep them coming. My treble was a 2pts loser.
Games on Friday night include Aston Villa v Bolton in the Championship, Napoli v Empoli in Serie A, Stuttgart v Eintracht in the Bundesliga and PSG v second-placed Lillie in Ligue 1 – so plenty of good matches to consider on top of the usual Dutch and French lower-league games.
Remember to check out the excellent welovebetting site for their tips and video chat.

Evening all,
Honduras u20 v Dominican Rep u20
Kick off 23.15
Honduras come into this as a much more experienced unit. Having played a number of games as a squad aswell as competing at the u20 world cup.
Dominican Republic on the other hand are new on the international scene.
Whilst Honduras aren’t exactly world beaters, I expect a comfortable win.
Having a pretty profitable day on the CONCACAF Championships so far.

Over 3.5 total match goals ✔
These won’t make us millionaires but a small win over a small loss.

Steamrolled in with plenty to spare!
Fancying a fair few goals in a handful of today’s games. The pattern seems to be emerging that the more experienced teams can score for fun but have trouble at the back, whilst the lesser experienced teams can pinch goals whilst being dreadful at the back.
Rich pickings for anybody willing to do a bit of homework 👍🏼

Mr.F. I know its about opinions but I don’t have confidence in Rangers at the moment. Can see them scraping a win v St.Mirren.
Stung me 3 times in a week 😠
St Mirren are really poor and Oran Kearney is stuck with what he has until January.
One fan I know is down south on Saturday is trying to find a pub not showing the game.
He’d be surprised if it was better than a 3-0 defeat.
Rangers will be hurting and simply have to win.

One game that I’m fond of. Price is a little skinny though so I’m taking on some extra risk in beefing up the odds.
Ballymena v Glenavon
Ballymena started the season without a pitch to play on. Their opening 9 domestic fixtures were played away from home or at a neutral venue and, in the circumstances, their form was reasonably solid. Aside from a 4-0 away defeat at today’s opponents Glenavon, they scored 22 goals across 9 games away from home soil. That difficult run included away trips to all of the best sides that Northern Ireland has to offer. 3-2 and 2-1 defeats at Cliftonville and Linfield were separated by a 2-2 draw at Coleraine and, on reflection, they only conceded 4 without reply at Glenavon once going down to 10 men.
Since the Showgrounds reopened its doors, Ballymena have gone 5 games unbeaten. They’ve scored 10 goals in those games and kept things tight at the back against weaker opposition before brushing aside defending champions Crusaders 3-0. That result has set up tonight’s 1st v 3rd tie against Glenavon up nicely.
Once a side traditionally found at the other end of the table, Glenavon have scored 30 goals in 12 league games to top the table with a game in hand over Linfield. In fact, in the past few years, Glenavon have been a cracking side to follow. They would score as many goals as they would concede and upset the apple cart a little among the established sides by getting amongst the title picture.
Interestingly, they’ve done their better work away from home so far this season. 18 goals have been scored in 6 away victories, but they’ve only managed to keep the one clean sheet at Ards. In fact, they have just 3 clean sheets to their name all season. And I repeat, the first of those, in the 4-0 win against Ballymena, was certainly aided by Ballymena going down to 10 men.
Glenavon rotated in an obscure cup competition in midweek when coming from behind to beat championship opposition 3-2, so the first XI should be fresh. Then there’s the H2H record – for those who are fans of it. 12 of the last 18 meetings have seen BTTS and Overs land. However, the last 11 consecutive meetings at The Showgrounds dating back to August 2013 have seen BTTS and Overs land. That includes the following scorelines (3-1, 1-6, 2-1, 3-4, 3-3, 1-7, 2-4, 1-4, 1-2, 2-1, 3-6).
This has the potential to be a cracker. I like the look of BTTS and hopefully that will lead to goals.
3/4 Stake:
Ballymena v Glenavon [BTTS & O2.5 Match Goals]
San Jose v Guabira [O1.5 Match Goals]
Double @ 49/50 (Bet365)

No write up necessary for San Jose. The single in NI is available at 8/11, which I would advise, but I’ll take the chance of nudging the odds a little higher.

Morning gents
FRIDAYS French card has been decimated due to midweek cup games but still some good looking games on tonight’s card
Aston Villa v Bolton (7.45pm)
It’s not been a great few weeks for new Villa manager Dean smith. Back to back away defeats leaves then languishing in 17th place
Two reasons to be optimistic about though. They are at home where they’ve have only lost one of their 7 games and they host a Bolton side who are in far worse shape than them.
Despite hammering the door, Villa couldn’t get a leveller away at QPR last Friday but they still have quality in the squad to get out of this predicament.
Villa have Certainly been good for corners this season and they should rack up at least another 7 or 8 tonight given they are at home against a poor Bolton side and need to win
Bolton have failed to score in 6 of their last 8 and are without a win 7 , I don’t see that record getting any better tonight
Brest v Red star (7pm)
A fantastic opportunity for inform Brest to hit the summit of Ligue 2 tonight. They’ve pulled in 19 points from their last 21 available and face a Red Star side who already looked destined for the the drop to the National Ligue.
It’s such a competitive league, to win 6 games on the spin is unheard of and having scored 13 goals in their last 4 home matches, they are strong favourites against a side with two draws and 4 defeats on the road
Huge gulf in quality and confidance between these two and Brest should get the three points
Recommendation
Villa / Brest Double
13/10 (Betway) (NAP)
Aston Villa over 6.5 Corners 4/5 (Ladbrokes)
I have used my ‘free bets’ as follows:
Betway £10: Villa DC, Benfica win, Bournemouth >1.5 mg, Bayern M win, Brentford DC, Derby DC, West Ham DC, Lyon DC, Arsenal >1.5mg, PSG >1.5mg, Celtic >1.5mg, Ayr DC, Peterhead >1.5mgs, Edinburgh >1.5mgs, Wolves >1.5mgs. £10 will return £115.39 (after £10 ‘free bet’ has been deducted) if this lot come in.
Betway doing an offer on the Arsenal game this weekend.
Hills £5: Celtic win, Juventus win, Derby DC, Brentford DC, Coventry DC, Blackpool DC, Bury DC, Lincoln DC, Port Vale DC. £5 will return £30.55. Realise now I have duplicated some so not good if eg Derby or Brentford screw up majorly…..need to take more care in future:)
Still got to decide what to do with the bet365 £5
Wolves v Spurs
Early preview ready for tomorrow night. Looking forward to this one. I for one quite like the day evening kick off. Spend the afternoon on the beer, go to the game and then sat night in the hot spot that is Wolverhampton. Can’t wait.
But back to football. We’ve faltered a bit lately. Fancied us to bounce back last weekend but it didn’t happen… Maccathered got it right.
This will probably be a no bet recommendation game for me. I think the odds of 13/10 for spurs are majorly generous though and wouldn’t steer anyone away from that at all. Spending the last 30+ years as a wolves fan and most of those as a season ticket holder would be that my one caviat would be that these are the games where we get a result from.
I’m still more than comfortable that we’ll survive and still think we’re gonna hit our mid table target but yep it’s clearly hard.
Whilst a gut feel says we will get a point in this one there’s no way I’ll be betting on a result and tbf won’t look at goals either. Can’t call it, could be goals galore but equally could be a 0-0.
Find it hard to argue against maccas tip of spurs win at 13/10.
My only advice would be leave this game well alone in terms of betting.
Agree Wolves raise their game for the big sides,Spurs have to get a result here and the way Wolves defence is i can see Spurs breaching it,the problem with Wolves is they don’t score enough goals,if Spurs go 2-0 up can Wolves find something to net two.I can’t ignore the price for Tottenham to win as they will take some heart from the Man City game even though they lost they put up a good fight in the last 30 mins.
Agreed. Yeah a good striker has to be high on the list for January. Yep I doubt we’d get 2 back haha.
Sticking with a no bet on this though although the price ona spurs win is generous
📊 Shortee’s Short Odds 📊
Following on from last nights success on NAP and side bet, we face what I always call a hard Friday…Friday night sees French and Holland leagues dominate but Holland has proven to NOT be the goldmine for goals it once was and numerous games already have seen under 1.5 and a good few 0-0 games and the prices are getting slightly better but bookies not given much away tbh.
The selection I chose tonight represents a lot of value in my eyes ( I hope as easy to say now, all bets look good at start lol )
we start first with 🔺PSG vs Lille🔺
Psg have one of the best home records about and have currently won their first 11 games and with that they have achieved over 1.5 team goals in 6 of their last 7 games against lille and losing none. PSG are also unbeaten in the league and their last 5 games have saw them amass a total of 19 goals for and 1 against – very impressive. At home PSG have scored 24 and conceded 2. Some credit has to be given to lille also who are 2nd in the league thanks to their decent record on their own turf and their ability to score goals and a total of 20 scored and only 8 conceded in 11 games is the 2nd best defence in the league but when you have players like mbappe, neymar and cavani coming at you its hard to not concede.
all been said I have looked at various prices and the home record of PSG has seen them cover the -1 handicap covered in the league 7 from 7 with all seen 3 or more home goals scored for them. With this in mind I start my selection with PSG -1 at 1/2
Next up I looked at various and I mean various games ranging from Holland to Belgium to france. I’ll be honest none really took my fancy bar the 🔹Nancy v Clermont game🔹
The prices in the match are quite generous given stats and also I feel the away price for Clermont is good considering nancy only scored a total of 4 goals in 12 fixtures and 18 conceded. A lot of the fixtures already have seen low scoring affairs but in those affairs the most goals have came in the SECOND HALF. In Nancy last 3 out of 5 a goal has been scored in second half at home and 4 from the last 6 for Clermont have seen a goal in the second half on the away games. When I seen the price of 1/3 for a single goal scored in the second half I felt it was justified with 68% achieving this in total when I also looked at recent games not just the home and away. The 1/3 also brings it up to a perfect evens and that is good enough for me today.

PSG -2 Asian Handicap
17/20
*NAP*
Won’t say much on PSG’s excellent home form in Ligue 1 as shortee’s done a thorough write up, but will add that the visitors Lille, although second place, are a gap in class behind PSG. Whilst Lille have been on a fairly good run – mostly their home form – they haven’t done so well on the road, losing to the likes of Strasbourg (cup game), Bordeaux, and Angers.
I can see PSG slotting 3 against the visitors tonight, without reply but taking the Asian line for a little bit of insurance.

Morning gents,
Not sure how many folk have been on the forum for 4 or 5 years but long-term regulars may recall my obsession with the NZ Youth games – to this day there has never been a league quite like it for the sheer number of goals in games.
Unfortunately, both 365 and then finally Coral eventually dropped the markets but by christ, it was good whilst it lasted!
I have seen a few rogue games pop up last year and more recently but I was more than happy to see a couple of old names crop up in a H2H which Bet365 are (very kindly!) covering…
AUCKLAND CITY U20 VS. HAWKE’S BAY UNITED U20 (2300 KO):
Back in the day, Auckland City were pretty good and Hawke’s Bay were bobbins…no change there then as the hosts head into this one looking to make it 3 wins on the bounce and a 100% start to the campaign whilst HB sit mid-table having won one and lost one.
H2H-wise, Auckland City have won the last 3 at home with victories of 2-1, 5-0 and 5-2 with recent home form reflecting a similar pattern of 6-7-3-4-4-6 match goals in their last 6 successive home games.
Hawke’s Bays own ‘match goal form’ gives yet another indicator as to why I was so gutted when Coral finally dropped the markets; over the last 20 most recent games, there has been a pretty impressive tally of 4-3-6-3-8-3-3-6-5-6-4-1-5-6-2-8-7-9-5-5 goals!
There are absolutely no guarantees in this betting lark but I have said before that I place my most valued 3 betting destinations in this order: 3. South America 2. Iceland 1. New Zealand Youth…let’s hope the NZ goal-gods are still onside!
GL 4.5…1.900

Best of luck 👍
Liking look of quite a few tips posted already today, will have a more indepth analysis of them later before possibly following some. For now, here is bet I placed 30 minutes ago, after my first trawl of the card and subsequent analysis. All short odds individually, (but as an acca, happy with overall odds from sky – hills, 365, paddy etc all under 2/1), and good to see some of my picks backed up by others tips, increases confidence of mine landing, hopefully with relative ease, well before 945 tonight.

Condolences stamp, also shame villa let you down with your treble.
Leicester have to be the nap of the weekend not only because they will want to win for much publicised reasons but also Cardiff have only won once at home all season and event then to Fulham who have the worst defence in the league so the 6/5 for the foxes looks generous too me.
I like Leicester but do we really know how players will react.

Longshot 4fold I have settled on, but reckon it has a decent chance of coming in. The first three have already been tipped elsewhere by other tipsters on here, and were on my initial shortlist, alongwith my 4th pick from Romania, where the home team are on a 5 match losing streak, up against a team in form, who have scored 2 or more in 6 out of 7 away games. And delving further into their games so far this season, only time Poli have had favourable results have been against teams around them in the lower echelons of the table. Added to that, last 2 h2h at Poli have seen them concede 2 each time to their opponents Craiova, and the two of them sit 11th and 3rd respectively, so hoping trends continue in favour of the away team.
All 7pm kickoffs.

Thanks gents! Yeah Shortee, a bit of a relief. I watched the game as it was on BBC Northern Ireland. The weather was atrocious and it had me worried that it would ruin the game. For the most part, it did. Still, both sides missed sitters to get a winner before the last goal landed, so I’ll take it!

Happy with that, main bet came in, know could have gone bolder with Frankfurt team goals like most did, but after the other week where I had them for 2 team goals against whipping boys Nurnberg and it ended 1-1, went for safer option of match goals. Likewise could have gone bolder with San Jose goals (6 in the end!), but went for minimum I felt they’d get, as opposed to being too greedy as have been bitten like that before. Bottom line, out of the two bets today, I’m in net profit a smidgeon over 10 points, and I’m well happy with that.
Well done everyone else who had winners (some belters), commiserations to those who came close, tomorrows another day.
Plenty of profit there sor – well done 👏👏
Excellent work! 👏
As you said fine margins, unlucky with your other punt
Great picks there again. Looks like a decent enough night all round tbh
