These international friendlies continue to be a minefield for punters and today looks no easier but let’s give it a go.
Albania are in the midst of a golden generation and have for the first time topped their qualifying group for a major tournament.
For so long they were one of the whipping boys in Europe but they’ve progressed enormously in the last decade or so to become a force to be reckoned with.
They’ll line up in Germany in arguably the group of death, alongside Spain, Croatia and Italy. They came up short against Chile on Friday night, going down 3-0 in Parma but could be worth a nibble at 4/1 against Sweden this evening.
The Swedes are in a period of transition and never really got their qualification campaign off the ground following early defeats to Belgium and Austria. Just three wins in eight qualification matches cost Janne Andersson his job, to be replaced by former Blackburn Rovers boss Jon Dal Tomasson.
His first match in charge resulted in a 5-2 defeat to Portugal on Thursday and he must’ve feared the worst after 57 minutes when they were 4-0 down.
There’s work to be done by Tomasson and Albania could make it an unhappy first international break for the Dane by sneaking a win in Solna.
It might have escaped your attention but the 2024 FIFA Series is underway and there’s matches being played in what is described as an invitational competition.
It’s a convoluted tournament with 24 nations from different continental confederations playing in five different Series in five different countries.
Andorra earned a 1-1 draw with South Africa at the weekend and might surprise a few at 13/2 against Bolivia in Algeria later tonight.
Azerbaijan are one of the Series hosts and Bulgaria are their opponents in Baku this afternoon (4pm). Both sides won their opening match and it’s the hosts that bookies favour at 31/20.
Their stand-out result during Euro 2024 was a 3-0 win at home to Sweden and if they can reproduce that kind of performance they could make life difficult for the Bulgarians who were winless in qualifying Group G.

BTTS or OVERS – 4/5 PP
Can’t see anything other than a very convincing win for Scotland tomorrow. They could easy have taken something against the Dutch and will want to halt the run of bad results before the Euros. There was some 8/13 about but not sure if that’s gone, but even ht/ft and minus a goal at 7/4 I think will come in with ease.
A big game this Sunday Man City v Arsenal. Walker would appear to be injured, and if it’s true would be a huge loss. City have lost a bit of spark and there’s something going on between Pep and De Bruyne, maybe Pep is trying to save De Bruyne for the latter stages of the season but why would he take him off when they played Liverpool that was a strange move and obviously De Bruyne was unhappy. This is a game though that City aren’t going to dominate, if we go back to the Liverpool game Liverpool ran riot and in my eyes City looked tired, not surprising after last seasons efforts. Arsenal could well do the same, most of their players rested themselves by either faking injury or refusing to play for their country for example Ben the fake tan White not the actions of big players or big clubs that aside with Walker looking dubious the 3/1 on Arsenal to win even with City’s home record looks a good bet. Just to add City still have the 115 charges looming over them and something has gone on there that we don’t know about 100%, a date has been set but they won’t tell us when.
Wait I’m confused so you’re topping Sweden and Albania to win? How’s that work?

Goal mad
7-0 after 35
Could be anything
Played 40 minutes in the first half. So second half could be cut short
Finished 19-0 I believe. Waiting on bet365 to see how they settle it as they pulled it once a goal was going in every few minutes. Something odd happened around the 40 minute mark, almost like they didn’t play a full half.
Cheers for the update. Had 10-0 at half time.
Also over 11 match goals.
Anytime it’s in the punters favour, pulled. 👍
