AFTER the drama of the Euro 2024 and Copa America finals, it's a much quieter day for punters today with the pick of the action coming in the Swedish and Finnish leagues.

Fallen Swedish giants IFK Gothenburg find themselves sitting just a point above the drop zone and face a tricky game on the road at sixth-placed Hammarby.

The home side are one of the Allsvenskan's form teams, racking up four wins and a draw from their last six outings, while Gothenburg's recent revival ground to a halt with a loss at Varnamo in their last outing.

The strugglers had only lost one in four before that so gaffer Stefan Billborn will be looking to grind out a result as his side scrap for survival.

But it's a tall order against a Hammarby side in high spirits and a win could lift Kim Hellberg's men up to fourth.

Hammarby v IFK Gothenburg Top Betting Tips

Hammarby's home form has been excellent this season, with five wins from six, so they look decent value at 9/10 for a win. To boost those adds, adding on over 1.5 match goals takes the price to 13/10 at Betfred.

Over 2.5 goals had landed in 10 games in a row for Hammarby prior to their 0-0 stalemate with GAIS last time out. That's why it pays just 8/11 here but adding on BTTS takes your odds to 19/20.

Nahir Besara has chipped in with five goals from midfield for Hammarby this term and is on their penalties. He's 15/8 to add to his tally today.

Halmstads v AIK Solna Top Tips

The other game in Sweden's top flight today sees Halmstads host AIK Solna, with both sides looking to move further clear of the drop zone.

AIK sit just four points above the relegation places in 12th but a win today would move them above 10th-placed Halmstads and up into eighth.

Their form is terrible, though, with five defeats in their last six, while Halmstads have won their last two at home.

Halmstads were battered 5-1 by Malmo last time out, with two bets landing for me, so it will be interesting to see how they respond.

I'm surprised to see the home side as 11/4 outsiders for this one and AIK odds-on favourites at 4/5 given how poor the side from Solna have been of late.

Halmstads have also won their last two at home against AIK so I'm going to take a nibble on those hefty odds.

Ioannis Pittas has scored in his last four for AIK so could also be worth a punt for anytime scorer at 11/8.

Haka v Ilves Top Tips

There's a big game in Finland today as Ilves look to jump from fourth place to the summit with a victory at Haka.

The title race has been a thriller so far and just seven points separate leaders KuPS from seventh-placed Inter Turku.

Haka sit in sixth just now but are also just four points off the top and have at least one game in hand on all the sides above them.

Ilves are unbeaten in five while Haka have lost just once in the same run of fixtures so it should be a close one.

The half-time draw looks good at 7/5 while the bookies seem to have got the odds a bit off with this one too.

Given Haka have home advantage and sit just two points behind Ilves, I'm surprised to see them as big as 3/1. You can also back them in the double chance at 21/20.

Agree with Guehi who had a good tournament, Trent never got a look in which is unforgivable, you could see the team was crying out for a player who could pick a pass, unfortunately Southgate opted for defensive minded players, so we absolutely deserved to lose. Gary Neville couldn’t believe Trent never got a look in so that says something.
