Mohamed Salah next club odds

Amongst punters and bookmakers alike, Mohamed Salah next club odds have been a big draw for several seasons now. At first, he was being linked to Real Madrid and Barcelona, but the biggest rumours now relate to a Saudi Pro League move.

For Salah himself, a move away from Liverpool may now make logical sense. There is a feeling that it's the dawn of a new era at Anfield, with England hot seat outsider Jurgen Klopp leaving and Arne Slot coming in.

It's a tale of ‘so far, so good', with third-favourites for the PL title Liverpool taking six points from six via wins over Ipswich and Brentford. Salah was a goalscorer in both outings, and looks a force reborn after his post-AFCON slump earlier in 2024.

However, if he does move away from Liverpool this summer, then here are his most likely destinations.

Mohamed Salah next club odds: Unfinished business for Al-Ittihad?

Any Saudi Pro League Club – 7/2

Mohamed Salah next club odds have fluctuated heavily over the past couple of years, with the scales tipping in favour of some of the biggest clubs in Saudi Arabia. That stands to reason, considering the heavy investment in the country's top-flight.

Several of his former teammates, such as Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, have all left the club for the Saudi Pro League, so the Egyptian may well feel like the time is now right to pursue this ever more popular challenge for elder statesmen.

It's anyone's guess who specifically would sign him, but one Saudi club in particular has been more closely linked than others.

At the end of the 2023 summer transfer window, Al-Ittihad intensified their efforts to sign the Egyptian from Liverpool, making a sensational deadline day offer of £150m. Liverpool rejected it, but further bids aren't out of the question it seems.

A move to the Saudi Pro League would make a lot of sense for all parties. For Liverpool, it would perhaps be the final chance for them to bring in a substantial amount for money for Salah. For the player, it's a chance to earn an obscene amount of money at the end of his career.

And for the Saudi Pro League, it's a chance to bring the biggest Arab athlete in the world to the league.

Given how Cristiano Ronaldo made the move to Al-Nassr in early 2023 to great effect, this may be one to watch, even if it doesn't happen this summer. That seems to be the likeliest scenario, considering that the 7/2 price here is a significant lengthening from the odds-on 10/11 this selection commanded in early July.

PSG – 20/1

PSG are the most likely club in Europe to make a move for Salah this summer according to the betting odds. The French giants are still on the hunt for a real blockbuster superstar to take the baton from Kylian Mbappe, after the forward left the club to join Real Madrid this summer, and Salah certainly fits that bill despite his age.

Earlier this year, PSG reportedly set their hearts on Salah as their number one target to replace Mbappe, however, no offers have been forthcoming, and links between the player and club appear to be fizzling out. That is reflected most starkly by the halving of this selection's implied probability, from odds of 10/1 in early July.

Barcelona – 25/1

Barcelona were also once believed to be keen on bringing Salah to the club, but their interest has also cooled. Financially, the deal would surely be impossible for the Catalans, while right wing isn't exactly a problem position for them given Lamine Yamal's emergence over the past year, which culminated in him becoming a Euro champion aged just 17.

Real Madrid – 33/1

Real Madrid were once considered the favourites to sign Salah from Liverpool, but that was several years ago now. These links were seemingly put to bed in 2022 when Salah penned a new contract at Anfield, and it would be unusual for Real Madrid to spend big money on a player who is past the peak of his powers.

Bayern Munich – 33/1

It would be tempting to go for someone of this calibre to act as backup, given how badly Bayern struggled to fight on three fronts last term, despite Harry Kane's arrival to fill the Robert Lewandowski-shaped hole that dogged the Reds. But this move is priced at 33/1 for a good reason; it won't happen.
