Mark Walker's Scottish Tips

Aberdeen can go top of the league on Saturday night if they make it nine-in-a-row under Jimmy Thelin.

And punters should jump in quick to get the evens with McBookie.com before it goes.

The Dons are flying after a terrific start to the season, and although only three of those eight wins on the spin have come in the league, they are playing with confidence.

The fixture list has been kind to the Dons because they have played both St Mirren and Kilmarnock at home after they have been involved in tough European ties.

But there's no doubt that Thelin has considerably improved his new charges across the pitch.

New loan signing Kevin Nisbet has got course and distance when it comes to goals in the Premiership and should do well if he gets service from the likes of Topi Keskinen and Jamie McGrath, while Graeme Shinnie has rolled back the years thanks to his new midfield enforcer Nielsen doing the graft.

County followed up their dismal Premier Sports Cup exit to League Two Spartans with a 6-0 hammering by Ranters at Hampden.

They clearly have defensive issues and Aberdeen – who won four of their five meetings last season in league and cup clashes – can get the win.

But their price contracted considerably last week before their win over Kilmarnock and the same might happen this week.

Dundee look a solid shout at home against St Mirren.

Saints still seem to be suffering the aftereffects of their first European adventure in 37 years. After losing to Dundee United in the cup, they barely laid a glove on Celtic last week.

Tony Docherty's side had to dig deep to rescue a late point at Hibs last week, but they could have been out of sight in the first half.

They seem to particularly enjoy playing at Dens Park, having scored 18 goals in four games there this season.

And they can beat St Mirren on Saturday at 6/5 with McBookie.com and continue a fine start to the season,

Alloa looks like it could be challenging for the League One title this year, adding to Arbroath's woes at 6/4 with McBookie.com.

Andy Graham's side have managed a couple of 1-0 wins in a row and also defeated St Johnstone in the Cup.

They have a tried-and-trusted squad at this level and could be too strong for the managerless Lichties, who have managed just one win in their eight games this season and look bereft of confidence.

I like the loo of Celtic, Aberdeen and Ayr at just under 5/1. All three have won all of their opening league fixtures and are playing with confidence and scoring goals.
