The race for the Championship’s Golden Boot is hotting up, with Norwich City’s Borja Sainz sitting top of the standings and betting table.
Can anyone stop the Canaries frontman?
We look at the latest Championship top scorer odds…
Sainz on fire
Sainz is in the form of his life, netting 11 goals in 15 league appearances. Norwich’s form has been patchy at best, but the Spaniard has remained supremely consistent in front of goal.
Sainz leads the way at the top of the Championship scoring charts, and the 23-year-old is the bookies’ favourite at 7/2. His form has attracted the interest of several European clubs.
Maja enjoying life at the Hawthorns
Josh Maja could be vital in West Bromwich Albion’s hopes of getting back into the Premier League. As we enter the November international break, the Baggies are sitting pretty in fifth spot in the Championship table.
The former Sunderland man has been a big hit with the Albion fans, scoring nine times in 15 league games. The goals dried up recently, but the striker has netted two in three and is back on song. Maja is nicely priced at 4/1 to finish top of the pile.
The other Championship top scorer odds contenders
The battle for the Golden Boot in England’s second tier promises to be fascinating. Several players will fancy their chances, including Leeds United’s Joel Piroe.
The Dutch forward has had to bide his time at Elland Road, but he has repaid his manager’s faith by netting six times in the Championship. Piroe is fourth in the standings and available at 14/1 to finish as the top scorer.
Coventry City have had a miserable season up to now, but Haji Wright has been a bright spark. The Californian has been sensational in attack, helping himself to seven league goals.
As the Sky Blues look to push up the table, Wright could be a dark horse in the race to be the top goal scorer. City’s No. 11 is priced well at 10/1.
