Lucky 15 Racing Tips

There is some great racing on Thursday, in particular, the meeting at Newmarket which catches the eye with some bigger names coming out to play.

Myself and Rizzel have selected four horses for Thursday's lucky 15 which you can find below.

Cairnzy's Tips

Hamish 10/11 – Newmarket 3.35

Hamish is short enough in the market but it's hard to look past him in this small runner field. Now an eight-year-old, Hamish is in no way short of ability having already won multiple times at Group level and arrives on the back of a 1L defeat to Luxembourg in the Group 1 Coronation Cup at Epsom. Hamish is a mud lover and with conditions in his favour, it's hard to see him lose this. Arrest looks like the main danger but Hamish is rated 3lb higher than that one and it'll require a career best to get the better of my selection on these terms.

Otago 7/1 – Epsom 7.50

Otago shaped with considerable promise when finishing third at Brighton over 6f last week. He is refitted with cheekpieces for this contest which he was successful with of this mark when winning at Brighton last year. Buy The Drip is also of interest in his search for a hat-trick although he arrives here with a 6lb penalty which asks more questions of him.

Rizzel's Tips

Twirling 4/1 – Newmarket 5.20

Ryan Moore is a noticeable jockey booking for the Simon & Ed Crisford training team and he has recorded four wins from thirteen runs for the yard, along with a further four placed efforts. This filly was quietly fancied to run a big race at Royal Ascot in the Kensington Palace Stakes, going off at 9/1. She underperformed that day, but you can look past a poor run at that meeting if they were running well previously. She had been running well this season prior to the royal meeting, with a placed effort on seasonal reappearance and then a win at Doncaster on good to soft ground, which was her best form to date. She seems to be suited by the cut in the ground and this lightly raced filly has more to offer off her current handicap mark of 92 for the inform training team of the Crisfords.

Kate The Cook 13/2 – Newbury 7.35

I think the top two in the market can be taken on in this race and the pick at the odds has to be Kate The Cook for Ralph Beckett. Though she hasn't had a run this season, she is worth a crack based on her debut run at the back end of last year where she was a huge eyecatcher at Kempton. She was running on nicely on the AW in November, finishing three lengths behind horses with experience. She has a decent pedigree and a pedigree which would suggest today's step up in trip will suit. The Haggas horse found it difficult to carry a penalty last time out and the Burrows horse hasn't got outstanding form claims to be as short as he is in the market.
