It was nice to see Rizz come away with a winner on Friday, with Hoe Joly Smoke making it two winners on the day for the inform Skelton yard.

Rizzels's other two selections filled the runner-up positions in their contests, which is always frustrating, but one winner from three is better than none.

Saturday racing looks top-drawer and there are plenty of meetings to get tucked into from a betting perspective. With that said, It's easy to get carried away with a race happening nearly every ten minutes. Remember to gamble within in your means and to not get carried away, especially at this time of year.

Cairnzy's Tips

Golden Ambition  9/4 – Aintree 12.57

For my first selection on Saturday, I've gone for the Ben Pauling-trained Golden Ambition, who holds strong claims in his bid to land the hat trick. I'm a huge fan of the Ben Pauling yard and he notably has his string in good nick at present.

Golden Ambition didn't show much ambition last season ( pardon the pun ), as he was soundly beaten in each of eight races, unseating his rider in one and beaten by a minimum of 10L in each of his other seven outings.

Ben Pauling has worked some magic with Golden Ambitions since then and his charge has drastically turned a corner, becoming a highly progressive type having finished second and won his last two races. My selection is now up to a respectable mark of 108 but runs of 101 for this contest as jockey Callum Prichard is able to claim his 7lb.

The Jennie Candlish runner Magical Arthur looked the main danger for me when studying this race, that one is also on a bid for a hat trick and is on a similar sort of mark to my selection. Similar to Golden Ambition, Magical Arthur didn't show much last season but has also become progressive since switching yards to Jennie Candlish.

No Hubs No Hoobs 15/2 EW – Chepstow 1.37

This Coral Welsh Grand National Trial Handicap Chase looks hugely competitive on paper but it promises to be a decent spectacle.

The Paul Nicholls charge Brave Kingdom is your current market leader for this contest and despite him having a good record when fresh, I'm not sure I'd want to get involved at the current price of 15/8.

There are plenty of other alternatives at more attractive odds if you are for taking on the market principle. My eye was drawn to No Hubs No Hoobs, who at 15/2 is worth a small eachway play in this contest.

My selection was on a roll last season, rounding off the season by landing the hat trick at Exeter. No Hubs No Hoobs is a strong stayer and has form over further than today's distance but he'll have no problem dropping down to this distance, and if they go a good clip then his stamina could prove a huge asset.

The current ground conditions at Chepstow are running soft but they are expecting heavy rain fall throughout the night and into tomorrow morning so I'm confident enough to say that the conditions will be extremely testing for these horses. My selections hat trick of wins all came on heavy going which again will be another positive knowing he will handle the testing ground.

No Hubs No Hoobs made his seasonal reappearance at Wincanton back in October and despite being soundly beaten into fourth, that run came on the back of a long absence and also came on unfavoured good ground. My selection should strip fitter this time around with this contest being the clear aim for this horse.

Master Chewy 20/1 EW – Sandown 3.00

I wasn't planning on having a bet in this year's Tingle Creek Chase but I've opted last second to have a small each way wager on Master Chewy.

Jonbon is your odds-on favourite for this race and if he jumps well then he probably is your winner. I wouldn't be getting involved at 4/7 on the outright win but he's probably not a bad play for adding into multiples if thats your sort of thing.

I scratched my head for a while when it came to looking for an eachway angle into this race and I was initially tempted by JPR One who has form on testing ground and won nicely under top weight last time out at Exeter. 12/1 was tempting but I opted to chance Master Chewy who at 20/1 could offer even better value with jockey Harry Cobden booked to take the ride.

My selection looked in need of the run when finishing fourth at Ascot last time out but that was his first run in 203 days and he's more than entitled to come on for the run. Master Chewy ended last season with a neck defeat to Found A Fifty at Aintree, form that now reads particularly well with Found A Fifty returning this term to win his first two outings and is now up to an OR of 162.

Most of my selections' better form has come on good to soft ground. At the time of writing, the current conditions are running at good to soft, and with Sandown expecting further rain throughout the night, Master Chewy should have his ideal conditions to run a big race.

I'm hoping Harry Cobden sits Master Chewy of the pace in this race because if he tries to go with Jonbon who should go from the front then It will be game over before the race even develops. If he sits off the pace then I think he could pick up some of the pieces if those towards the head of the market try to go toe to toe with the market leader.

I also thought there was the possibility that Edwardstone could try and take the lead in this contest given he won pillar to post in the Grade 2 Spirit Chase at Newbury back in 2022 on testing ground. Edwardstone hasn't used those aggressive tactics in recent times, but given he's been turned over by Jonbon on multiple occasions, I thought connections may opt to try something different. If that was the case then you've two front runners battling it out for the lead which could set the race up for some of the horses sat of the pace to pick up the pieces in the business end.

Aintree abandoned due to high winds. Devastated as was waiting for Liam Swagger.

I had some useful stats on the yard/ jockey/ owners so I’m just going to post them as they may be a useful still for the coming weeks/months.

He would definitely have handled the soft ground today so don’t worry if his next run is on soft.

Yard at Aintree 60 % strike rate with 3 from 5.
Sam Twiston- Davies has a 44% strike rate with 10 from 23 for the yard.

Owners ( The Gredley Family) have a 34% strike rate with their hurdles over the last 5 seasons with 28 from 82. This season with their hurdlers they have a 45% strike rate with 9 from 20.

Liam Swagger has a really similar profile to stable mate Burdett Road who is also owned by the Gredleys. He won 2 juvenile hurdle race this time last year and was set for a crack at Cheltenham but suffered an injury just before. Liam Swagger is also being aimed at Cheltenham.

James Owen had been really bullish all week, he’s been working brilliantly at home and has come on a lot since his last run.
Definitely one to watch out for next run.

My next bet is set to run Wednesday, I’ll post a few stats a couple of days before. Hope all the readers and contributors are well. Kind regards, Chris.

Morning All . Major thing today is the going and conditions plus its a Saturday as well .

Gone for horses I believe will go on the ground only thing you can do .But tired horses and fallers can change the race.
    So keeping it sensible.

We are left with only one selection today due to the weather conditions.

Due to Unexpected Party being withdrawn The Tingle Creek is only paying 2 places which is another negative…

Maybe a day to keep the money in the bank and tuck yourself up in bed with some hot coco ?

And if you can’t find a hot cocoa maybe a Michelle, Deborah or Sarah will do….and if you can’t find those then the wife or girlfriend will have to do. If you have a wife or girlfriend called Deborah, Sarah or Michelle and she’ll make a hot cocoa for you then you have hit the jackpot ?
