Clove Hitch returned an impressive winner on Thursday after being backed from the advised odds of 11/8 into odds on. I expected Clove Hitch to be priced up at even money and fully expected him to shorten overnight and during the day. The 11/8 was a steal in the end as he won like a 1/5 shot on the day.
My other selection Vice President, denied us the double. Vice President seemingly had the race in the bag but was railed in by the eventual winner in the final furlong after looking a tad lonely out in front. Regardless, both look nice sorts going forward and I'll be surprised if Vice President isn't sent back up in trip on his next outing as he appears to need further.
Apologies in advance for only having a single selection on Friday, something came up today and I've had very little time to look at tomorrow's racing.
Rajeteriat 7/4 – Sandown 1:30
My sole selection for Friday comes in the opener at Sandown in the shape of Rajteriat, trained by Tom Clover and will be ridden by jockey Oisin Murphy.
I've had this horse in my tracker since he debuted in April. He finished third on debut, showing clear signs of inexperience and greenness throughout the race. The penny dropped a tad late on debut as he started to stay on within the final furlong.
My selection recently ran in a similar event at Beverley which saw him finish third again. I thought he traveled much better throughout that contest, however, he showed signs of inexperience again, in particular when asked to go and win the race ( hung left ). He stayed on again once straightened up and if able to improve and stay straight should go close in this contest.
Rajeteriat brings the most solid form to this contest despite not winning in each of his two starts. Karl Burkes Storm Call, who finished second in my selections debut run has since gone on to win next time out. Moving Force who was the eventual winner in Rajeteriats previous outing ran well next time out and was only narrowly beaten by an exciting sort in Shareholder who Karl Burke also trains.

Nap and NB won ?.
Take note !!!!!.
Not calling it a double as I didn’t nominate them as a double beforehand, that would be an extra bet/point which I can’t usually afford.
So it’s 2x singles ?
