There's nothing worse than when you have a jockey change on a horse you have already backed. Sam Twiston-Davies is arguably one of my favourite jumps jockeys, but he was replacing a 7lb claimer which I thought was going to be a big help in reducing the overall rating of the horse, and in hindsight, the 7lb would've been enough to win the race based on the margins he was beaten by. Pain in the arse considering you back a horse expecting one thing and then it changes.
Lingfield 4:02 – Movethechains 6/1 (0.5pt EW, Bet365)
With the ground being heavy, like it has been for the best part of the last two months, I think it's best to not get too heavily involved in the racing so it's just the one fancy for me today with Movethechains looking like a worthy bet back over hurdles.
This horse was rapidly moved to fences once he got a handicap mark, and his record over fences at Lingfield is 5/7, so you can't really blame connections for going for the switch. You'd have to say he is a better chaser than a hurdler based on the fact that they weren't keen to keep him over the smaller obstacles, but off a mark of 112 which is effectively 105 with Rob Hargreaves taking off 7lbs from his claim, he has to be worth a shot against the favourite who didn't exactly set the world alight when landing the four-timer last time out. Movethechains was never going to show what his ability was in novice company in his first three starts over hurdles, he was always going to be seen to best effect when put into handicap company, but also he was racing over 2m 1f – 2m 3f which we've seen was never going to suit given the fact he won the Sussex National at this track over 3m 5f, so now he is over a more suitable trip of 2m 7f he can show that he is well-handicapped off such a low mark with the rider's claim taken into consideration.
He is best at this track, all of his wins in his career (other than two PTP successes) have come at Lingfield, so if he was ever going to show that he was on a decent handicap mark over hurdles he would show it at today's track, so it seems a good bit of placing by Gary Moore and connections, who have spied an opportunity to get some small prize money with this horse.
Megan Nichols tipped Quebecois for the Champion Bumper at 25/1. Same owner as the one she tipped on ITV Racing on Saturday. Thunder rock I think it was
She never seems to be far away in her tips
I was on her tip Saturday as well . She’s probably worth listening to bet she got some access to some good inside info especially with her old man
Now 16/1 NRNB Bet 365
She should get her own page MEGAN FLIX IT ! 😂
