Flowering finished second after bumping into an improver from the William Haggas yard. I mentioned in my write-up last night that I was giving her one more chance, and on that note, I'll not be backing her again.
There is no doubt Flowering will win races at that low level, but chasing it until she does is simply not on my agenda.
We have some great flat racing on offer from the meeting at Sandown, and that's where I'm concentrating my focus for Friday's racing.
Hand Of God 15/8 – Sandown 1:50
The combination of Ryan Moore and Harry Charlton worked in my favour recently when they teamed up to land a winning selection for me in the shape of Kikkuli. Ryan Moore has some really nice rides lined up at Sandown and a good day at the office is potentially on the cards.
The opening price of 3/1 for my selection is now gone, and there is a good chance that the 15/8 could shorten overnight. For the reason just mentioned, I do advise taking the price tonight If you are deciding on having a bet. It's a shame that only seven runners go to post for this contest as It means the each-way angle into the race is pretty much off the table with only two places on offer.
Hand Of God struck out to me as the horse to be on in this contest for quite a few reasons which I will get into now.
The form of the maiden that Hand Of God won at Newmarket looks very strong. Classic Encounter, who finished runner-up and two-and-a half-lengths behind my selection, is now rated 82, while the third is now rated 85. Royal Majesty, who finished fifth, was originally trained by Roger Varian but has since switched yards to William Mott and has gone on to win twice over in the US.
My selection was given a rating of 88 for that maiden win which probably looks a bit on the short side given the form that has came out of the race. Trainer Harry Charlton gave an interview recently suggesting he is very keen on Hand Of God's chances in this contest.
The Charlton yard is in good nick at present, operating at a 30% strike rate this month, so everything points towards a big run.
Nostrum 5/2 – Sandown 3:00
I'm a big fan of Nostrum and I'm looking forward to seeing him contest this race. He looks like the type who can improve massively this season, and on a track that suits front-runners, I'm taking him to improve past this lot on his seasonal debut in the Bet365 Mile at Sandown
He was last seen at York in August of last year, where he finished a disappointing sixth of six that day. Connections reported he finished lame that day, and for that reason, I'm more than happy to forgive the run.
Prior to the run at York, Nostrum held some decent form in the book. He won his first two starts as a juvenile and went on to finish third in the Dewhurst behind Royal Scotsman and Chaldean.
He then got back to winning ways after a 278-day break when landing the Sir Henry Cecil Stakes by three lengths at Newmarket in July.
He then ran in the Thoroughbred Stakes at Goodwood on testing ground, finishing second, 1L behind Epictetus, who went on to land the spoils in the end.
There are a few interesting runners in the field, none more so than Lord North, who steps down in trip to a mile for the first time since 2019. William Buick notably takes the ride on that one, which is a tad strange given that he has never rode the 8-year-old in his entire racing career.
The Roger Varian-trained Charyn was also of interest, but I feel he's best seen on softer ground, which was enough to put me off.

Hand Of God 4/1 Sandown 1.50
Very quickly why I’m on this today. Cairnzy has it covered above but I can add a few pointers.
This colt prefers right handed tracks, which he has today. Has been doing extensive stalls work over the winer. He can be very quick out of the gates. He is very versatile, can sit off the pace if needed or can make all. Will very likely bounce out, be right up there and make his move at the 2 pole. Will relish this uphill finish.
I m a stickler for betting 1 pont only but I did have an extra half point on this as the 4/1 was just crazy odds. I’ll only back these big stake bets 2 or 3 times a year so this shows my confidence with this one.
Fir those who look to bet in running, don’t. He will be out so quick, if you fancy it, and aren’t already on, get on now. Even the 2/1 available now is well worth backing.
Have a fantastic weekend everyone. All the best, Chris.
More absolute bullshit by our Dean EVERY single 1 of these so called good things are already gambles and surprise surprise hes supposedly on the very best 1st price miles away from what it is now even 2 points better than Cairnzy even though Cairnzy posted 1st 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Wake up foke anybody can go onto oddschecker find a gamble write some shite and pretend to be on at the start of the gamble.
Off course some of these can win because they are gambles but he has zero inside info like hes always pretending he has.
Hibee1 tipping it puts me off, his recent win rate is poor at best.
Let’s hope it wins for Cairnzy and anybody that followed him in especially with the NRs now and Rule4 🤞
Poor is what you will be following Dean’s crap

B365 chase Saturday
Amirite 7/1 ew 5 places
Based on his run in the PP Chase is very well h’capped and finally gets his preferred good / gd/sft ground.
Will probably go off fav.
Another I’ve backed that’s running Saturday is KYPRIOS but I’ve backed him for the Ascot Gold Cup at 11/4 not Saturday. Wins and he goes 6/4 minimum.
BOL
cracking gold 1.50 well done all winners yesterday
Houston Texas 2.05 ew
tassman bay 2.25 ew
charyn 3.00
How are we all doing?
Good to see my man Cairnzy has had plenty of winners since taking over, including one already today.
I’ve not been betting on the horses, or keeping up to date with it all but I’ve had a play in the last at Perth. Was 28/1 when I backed Magna Victor, Ralph normally does well when sending his runners on treks and Lorcan Williams goes up for the one ride. Strange pedigree but my only bet of the day, couldn’t recommend backing it with too much confidence as it’s on debut, but thought I’d put my bet in whilst I was passing by.
Been backed into 12s from 20s in the time I was writing this 🤦♂️
plaisair des floss 4.25 nap
spoken truth 4.35 nb well done all winners today
Hi guys, heard a word for Life on the rocks 6-00 Newcastle, not much form wise but apparently it’s been held back and has been backed from 10/1 down to 5/1, don’t post often but I said I’d pass it on and don’t shoot the messinger. Good luck cottweiler
Sorry lads, not the best, lost on it myself good luck cottweiler

Oaklawn Park -Race 7..Wants N Needs EVS ***** Skybet boost (10/11 various) Put this in my tracker after it beat my tip coming a nice 2nd at 12/1 on debut so a slight improvement he wins bar a special debut horse, something the same versus these should do to.
Aquaduct -Race 7 …Quick To Accuse. 2/1 **** Skybet boost
He looks far to good for these and I expected by the time Skybet put there prices up and I got home to find it 11/10 or worse? Q a Wesley 🇳🇱
Keeneland- Race 9…Royal Take Charge 7/1 Ew ***+
Know this horse and I’m wide open race Barry G of ATR puts more than a good case forward and 29% jockey/trainer combo from 12 rides ain’t easy over a year and a bit
GL 🇺🇸 🫡
Paul Q of ATR on Wants N Needs too I see, let’s not be kidded that doesn’t help. 👍
Al Mubhir 2.05 Lecicester tomorrow 11/4
Only bet tomorrow. Thought it was worth sharing as there’s a fair few good stats/pointers even if not for tomorrow but for the season ahead.
Have been waiting for this one to run. Won this race last year in very similar conditions by almost 5 lengths. Clearly enjoyed the track that day. Loves soft ground which he gets tomorrow.
What really caught my eye was the yards stats at the track. They have a very decent 26% strke rate here, but if you dig a bit deeper you see they have a 41% strike rate with their handicap runners here , with 7 wins from 17 ( over the last 5 seasons). They have had 9 older horses ( 4 yo and over) run on turf so far this season, with 3 of them winning for a 33% strike rate ( Al Muhbir is a 5 yo).
Think the price will be backed in like almost all of my bets do so if anyone else likes it I’d say get on early.
Will go really close tomorrow, he’s 7 lb higher than last years win here but the gelding operation will bring on a ton of improvement you’d imagine.
All the best everyone tomorrow .
Just thought I’d point out there seemed to be a commentor confused about my bet on Hand Of God today, if anyone looks back early in the week, I think Monday was when I backed it at 4/1 at the opening show, you will see I mentioned there I had been waiting for this horse to run and it would be very hard to beat. I’ll see if I can find it and copy it down. Wlll done Cairnzy also who was keen on it.
Here is the paragraph in question. I played Midsir which got beat at 8/13 and backed Hand Of God at 4/1.
_______
One to lay for fellow exchange players is Harry Charlton’ Midair at Epsom 4.30. Will need the run today so will likely find at least one too good.
One I’ve been waiting for from the same yard on Friday is Hand Of God. Will take all the beating.
All the best for the next week or so with your own bets everyone, Chris.
