In regards to yesterdays main selection I can't help but feel a bit hard done by. The gamble of the day was on Illusionist who unfortunately was beaten on the line. He was backed into 11/4 favourite after I tipped him up last night at 10/1 EW. If you managed to get on the price last night before it shortened you at least made profit on the place but it's left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth If I'm honest.
My other selection Robusto could only manage second place and didn't travel as well as I thought he would. I still think he is a horse to look out for next time out and It will be interesting to see if connections drop him back to 1m4/1m5 which seen him in better light on previous runs.
I only have the one selection for tomorrow and I hope It's worth the wait as It comes from the evening meeting at Kempton.
Jackson Street 11/4 – 7:00 Kempton
This is a competitive little race with those at the head of the market all holding strong claims and not a lot splits them in terms of their current price.
Jackson Street has been given a mark of 77 and I think that is more than manageable for Karl Burkes youngster.
He made his debut for Karl Burke back in November when finishing ninth in a ten runner field and although he didn't show much on debut he has been improving for each run since.
He brings arguably the best form to this race in my opinion when finishing third at Southwell last time out. The eventual winner that day Queen of Zafeen has since went on to place in listed company whilst the third place horse Solomon went on to win next time out easily and followed that up with a third place effort behind Notable Speech and Cuban Tiger who have also both went on to win races at higher levels.
Current market leader Von Baer is an interesting contender as he looks the type to improve further in handicaps. He did make up some nice late headway when last seen at Sailsbury in a class 2 which was a good performance. That being said all his three runs have came on turf so he does come with risks with having to transfer that form to the AW which not all horses do so It was enough to put me off.

Turf Paradise -Race 10 Ranger Joe 11/4 **+ Paddy Power
Went close in a better race on debut for trainer.
Assael Espinoza stays on and flying at the moment so 11/4 looks decent.
Combo forecast Numbers = 9 -10 -11
Lario 1.33 Taunton Thursday
Morning everyone. Just a quick share for a horse I’ve been waiting for. Hopefully a few pointers worth noting for everyone.
Harry Derham is a master at improving horses when he first gets them. He got this one from Anthony Charlton only a few weeks ago and ran him a few days later which isn’t enough time for the horse to settle in and for Harry to do his magic. He still ran a fantastic race only beaten just over a length behind Goodwin and Cannock Park which are both obviously excellent novices. Cannock Park had been placed in Grade 1 and Grade 2 races previously.
Harry was actually going to run him in the Grade 1 novice at Aintree on Friday but have opted for this easier option tomorrow at Taunton.
It’s only been about 3 weeks since his run at Newbury but that’s enough time to see this horse settle and he’s open to stacks of improvement. Really confident bet tomorrow. Obviously stick to my usual 1 point stake. The biggest mistake punters will make is ‘going big’ when they really fancy one. Play the long game, keep chipping away and the profits will come.
Just thought I’d share this now as I’ll be too busy with Aintree on this week. Make sure to keep an eye out for the opening show, should be around 4pm today. Essential to be getting these early odds, gives you the leeway to lay off if needs be.
Hoping for around 7/2 ish, I think that would be a gift. Will be heavily supported no doubt especially as its the only runner on the card for the stale. Yard is 40% strike rate the last 2 weeks with 4 from 10. Paul Obrien has a 50% strike rate the last 2 weeks with 4 from 8.
Best of luck everyone for today, and Aintree. Should be back the next week or so. All the best have a lovely week all.
