A GREAT race to finish the day with plenty of old names like Across The Bay and Vintage Star returning to do battle with some younger horses who are on the way up.
The race is for amateur riders only so the professional jockeys can head to the pub early and let the amateurs take centre stage.
The handicap is quite tightly packed in this one with just over a stone separating the whole field and I have gone for two nearer the top of the handicap, both of whom appear to be improving and have scope to improve again and win today.
4.40 – Kim Muir Challenge Cup
– Run over 3 miles 2 furlongs
– Handicap Chase
– Amateur riders only
Each way selection: Clondaw Knight
I tipped this one on Monday but connections have clearly decided to run him in this. He has been in great form recently and promises to offer more in the future and this would be a fabulous win for Scottish jumps racing if Lucinda Russell could do the business.
Each way selection: Masters Hill
Good recent win at Exeter after close second placed finishes on his previous two starts and although he has gone up a few pounds as a result he remains an improving horse and I was surprised that double figure prices were available. A horse who is sure to give you a run for your money and looks like good each way value.
Clondaw Knight – 2 points each way at 16-1 with Totesport
Masters Hill – 2 points each way at 12-1 with Totesport
