The PGA Tour continues this week with the RSM Classic on both the Seaside and Plantation Courses at Sea Island Resort, Georgia.
The 156 field will all be competing for the $7.2m purse with the winner collecting the title and $1.188m.
This event will be played on the par 70 Seaside links course and the par 72 Plantation parkland course.
Robert Streb returns to defend the title he won last year when defeating Kevin Kisner in a play-off.
The weather is forecast to be warm and clear throughout with breezes expected to pick up from Friday onwards.
This event will be screened on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Golf with live coverage starting at 5pm GMT on Thursday.
Louis Oosthuizen
For my first and main selection for this weeks RSM Classic I’m going to single out Louis Oosthuizen 22/1 EW Bet365.
The 39yr old South African is back after a break so will be refreshed and if anyone is due a win this year then it must be Oosthuizen.
He has come so close on so many occasions this year without winning and I expect him to be challenging yet again at this event.
The South African now finds himself inside the Top 10 best ranked golfers in the world. It’s hard to believe that Oosthuizen hasn’t won a tournament this year, 2nd at the US Open, T2nd at the PGA Championship, and T3rd at The Open Championship, all Majors.
He was also runner-up recently at the 3M Open so if anyone deserves a victory before the year is out then it’s Oosthuizen.
He seems to always come back fresh after a break and thus could be the perfect chance for Oosthuizen to end the year on a high with a trophy to show for all his hard work this year.
Russell Henley
For my next selection I’m going to advise Russell Henley 25/1 EW Bet365.
The 32yr old is a native to Georgia so will have some home advantage and knows these courses better than most.
Henley was T7th last time out at the Houston Open. He seems to prefer the Bermuda greens where his putting improves dramatically and together with his improved long game, he can put on a show this week in front of his home crowd.
Henley has seven Top 25s in his last eleven starts and is another who deserves a victory this year but with time running out this could be Henley’s best chance to lift a trophy in his own backyard.
Scottie Scheffler
For my next selection I’m liking the look of Scottie Scheffler 14/1 EW Ladbrokes.
The 25yr old from Dallas, Texas is another who has had an excellent season without actually winning a tournament but he has been knocking on the door on more than a few occasions.
He was runner-up at the Houston Open last weekend and has also finished runner-up at the WGC Dell Matchplay.
He has six Top 20 finishes in his last ten starts with three of those being Top 10s and two Top5s.
Scheffler still hasn’t won on the PGA Tour as of yet but this kid is too good not to go on and win that elusive maiden PGA Title anytime soon and it could well be this week in Georgia to finish 2021 as a PGA champion.
Alex Noren v Kevin Kisner
For my final selection it’s the customary matchbet and this week I’m going to advise Alex Noren to beat Kevin Kisner 10/11 Nap Betfair who may still have a hangover after his recent victory.
