Valspar Championship betting tips

After backing two winners over the last two golf tournaments, in a double that would have been worth 320/1, we're here to provide some more golf betting tips for the Valspar Championship this weekend.

The tournament has been part of the PGA Tour since 2000 and previous big-name winners include Jim Furyk, Luke Donald and Paul Casey. However, due to its position on the calendar directly after the Players Championship, it no longer pulls in a star-studded field.

Those who are competing this week will have to take on the par-72 course at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club and it has proved to be a tricky place to get on top of in recent years. Of the last four winners of the tournament, only Sam Burns has shot better than -12 over four days.

The reigning champion, Peter Malnati, is back to defend his crown but at 250/1 with the best golf betting sites, he is considered a long shot to be successful. There are plenty of players competing who are in good shape, though. Check out our three Valspar Championship betting tips below.

Valspar Championship betting tips

Tommy Fleetwood EW (Ten places) – 9/1

Tommy Fleetwood is set for his first appearance at the Valspar Championship in two years after skipping the event last year. The Englishman, who is incredibly still searching for his first-ever win on the PGA Tour, will fancy his chances this week as a) this is a course he has performed well at in the past and b) the field isn't the strongest.

Fleetwood is the second-highest-ranked player competing this week, behind only Xander Schauffele who is struggling with injury and form. Fleetwood's form has been promising so far in 2025 with his lowest finish so far 22nd.

In his last appearance at the Valspar Championship, Fleetwood finished in a tie for 3rd. On that occasion, he missed out on the win by just two shots but he demonstrated that this is a course he is comfortable around.

Shane Lowry EW (Ten places) – 22/1

Shane Lowry has enjoyed a good start to 2025 which makes his price of 22/1 this week seem a little long. The Irishman has already secured two top-ten finishes – 2nd at Pebble Beach and 7th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Lowry last played at this event back in 2022 and he put in a solid performance, finishing in tie for 12th. In the three years since, the Irishman's game has improved and he is perhaps now more equipped to deal with the demands of Innisbrook.

Lowry is currently ranked seventh on the PGA Tour in 2025 for strokes gained from tee to green and that ball striking will help him here.

Harry Hall EW (Ten places) – 50/1

One consistent theme with winners of this event in years gone by is the importance of putting performance. The sloping Tif Bermuda greens can be unforgiving at times, especially around the infamous snake pit (holes 16-18).

Of every player that has won this event over the years, only two have ranked outside the top 20 for putting average which illustrates just how valuable form with the flat stick is heading into the championship.

The current leader for putting average on the PGA Tour in 2025 is Harry Hall, who also ranks first for one-putt percentage. If Hall can improve this week from tee to green then he is a major dark horse and 50/1 is too good to turn down.
