Today we have two excellent tennis tips from the ATP action in Europe, with some juicy matchups going down in Stockholm and Antwerp. In one, we’re going with a conservative wager on the clash between Casper Ruud and Tallon Griekspoor, while in the other, it’s a left-field upset of a popular indoor player.
Best tennis tips and predictions today
Here are the two best tips we have for the tennis action this Friday:
Ruud vs Griekspoor – over 22.5 games @ 4/6
This prediction might not feature the best odds, but we think it’s decent enough to warrant a wager. Ruud has been looking strong so far in Stockholm, even though indoors might not be his best conditions.
Griekspoor is technically the better fit indoors, and his track record proves that. His first match here in Stockholm was pretty good as he beat Jacob Fernley, who had only one loss indoors the entire year.
Another thing that benefits this pick is that both players served at a decent level, hitting a good amount of their first serves. If that happens again, neither player will be easy to break, which only benefits us further.
Stockholm is one of the quicker indoor courts, making it easier to play behind the serve. Their matches so far have been somewhat close. It doesn’t matter that Ruud won their last one easily because this court plays differently from those they played on before.
We just think that it’s a matchup where neither player will be easy to break, and with a 7-6 or 7-5 opening set, this bet should clear nicely. Both have played well, and there isn’t anything indicating that either of them will be poor in this one.
Bautista Agut to defeat Auger-Aliassime @ 5/2
Auger-Aliassime is a former champion of this event. We have to say that immediately, but even with that, we like this matchup for the Spaniard. Bautista Agut is generally one of the more reliable players out there.
He has a decent level and usually performs at that level most of the time. Auger-Aliassime is far more volatile, which means he’s more likely to mess up this matchup.
The Canadian hasn’t looked great recently, losing some matches that he shouldn’t have. Bautista Agut, meanwhile, has found a really solid level lately, winning against some good players. He’s also beaten Auger-Aliassime in the past, so he can win this matchup.
Overall, we just think he’s far more likely to play a clean match, especially in the Antwerp conditions, which are somewhat slow for indoor courts. The odds are certainly juicy enough to warrant a try, and when you look at the form, it makes perfect sense.
