Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me remain in Asia and there’s a fixture from the Chinese Super League in which I like the look of for goals.
Shanghai Port vs Wuhan Three Towns
?? Super League
⏰ Tuesday 12th July, 11:30
Wuhan Three Towns will look to extend their one-point lead at the top of the Chinese Super League table, as they travel to the Puwan Stadium to take on sixth-placed Shanghai Port.
Shanghai Port kept up their good run of form last time out, as an 83rd-minute Oscar penalty gave them all three points in a 0-1 victory away to Guangzhou FC. Ivan Leko’s side come into this having won five of their last seven league matches (W5-D1-L1), including a 2-1 win against Hebei FC in their last home fixture. After failing to score in both of their opening two fixtures, Shanghai have since gone on to find the back of the net in each of their next seven matches, scoring on 10 occasions. The Red Eagles have managed just three clean sheets from their opening nine Chinese Super League fixtures, with two of those coming against third-bottom Guangzhou FC and the other coming against bottom side Hebei FC.
Wuhan Three Towns kept up their scintillating form last time out, as they trashed city-rivals Wuhan Yangtze River 5-0. Pedro Morilla’s side have now won eight and drawing one of their opening nine league fixtures, winning each of their last six. Wuhan have found the back of the net in all nine of their league matches, scoring at least twice in eight of those, as well as scoring three or more in six of them. The league leaders have conceded in five of their opening nine Chinese Super League matches this season, including in each of their last three games on their travels.
Bet of the Day
Shanghai Port and Wuhan Three Towns are two of the most in-form sides in the Chinese Super League and I’m expecting an entertaining encounter between the two at the Puwan Stadium tomorrow. By a distance, Pedro Morilla’s guests are the top-scorers in the division, scoring a remarkable 32 goals from their opening nine league fixtures. The league leaders have scored at least twice in eight of their nine fixtures, scoring three or more in six of them and I can see them scoring at least another two against a Shanghai side who’s three clean sheets have came against two of the bottom three sides in the division. Ivan Leko’s hosts have scored in each of their last seven league matches and given the visitors have conceded in each of their last three on the road, I can see them contributing in a match that should see at least three strikes.
