After making it four winners from four to begin the month of March and 12 winners from the last 14 at Peterborough last night, Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me remain in the EFL, and there is one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

Two clubs separated only by two points in the Championship table meet at Vicarage Road on Wednesday night as mid-table pair Watford and Swansea face off in a match that appeals to me for goals.
Valérien Ismaël’s hosts have scored 50 goals across their opening 35 matches in the Championship this term, with 27 (54%) of them coming on home soil. The Hornets have made the net bulge in 14/17 (82%) of their Championship contests in front of their supporters – including in 13 of their previous 14 – and will look to find the target once again on home turf against a Swansea backline that’s kept just three clean sheets on their travels this season, shipping multiple goals in 9/17 (53%) of them.
Luke Williams’ visitors have scored 45 goals across their opening 35 Championship contests this term, with 25 (56%) of the coming on their travels. The Swans have found the target in 29 (83%) of their Championship fixtures – including in 15/17 (88%) of their road trips – and will look to breach a Watford defence that’s kept just two clean sheets across their previous 13 Championship encounters on home soil, with both of those coming against Sheffield Wednesday (23rd) and Rotherham (24th).

Swansea’s opening 17 Championship fixture on the road this campaign are averaging 3.24 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in 12 (71%) of them, including in 10 of their previous 13 – and given the same has landed in nine of Watford’s last 13 Championship encounters on home soil – I’m happy to have a punt on these two sides producing a minimum of three strikes at Vicarage Road on Wednesday evening.
